What is the difference between a Z Visa and a Green Card?
Answer:
Z Visas aren't in law yet. But hopefully soon it will be. Z Visas are what will be given to anyone who is undocumented that will come forward and wants to be in the U.S. legally. It can lead to a green card after about 8 years, but in the mean time anyone with a Z Visa can live and work here in the U.s.
A Green Card is a real document given to Permanent Residents who immigrated legally to the United States. A Z-Visa does not exist at this time.
A green card is a legal document issued by the USCIS as proof that an individual is indeed a legal resident in the US. The Z Visa is NOT YET in force. It is just a proposed bill and still subject to revision. Let us wait until it is passed and see the final version.**
