Why do so many people have a problem with the US government upholding our US laws?!!!!!?

I've already been called a racist once today. Take your best shot. I would like to see the law upheld FOR EVERYONE.
Australia government officials supposedly told every one who does not want to live under australian law, assimilate and speak English , to take advantage of the freedom to leave and find someplace that makes you happy.
I believe most US citizens want to see our laws enforced.
Race is not the issue, order is the issue.

Answer:
I would not have a problem with the US government upholding our laws, in fact, I want them to. But the sad fact of the matter is they are not and have no intention of upholding the laws of America. The people have not made enough noise on this issue and the current administration wants to give law breakers amnesty instead of making them go home! If the government would only do their job, the people would not be so outraged at what is going on! What is the deal when two border patrol are arrested for doing their job? We know what stand the government takes here, don't we? This is becoming a nation where the government is running a dictatorship instead of enforcing the laws created by the people!
Ruined schools and services by mass illegal immigration of people too poor to cover their costs with taxes is the issue.
I get called a racist every day. They are still illegal and need to get the hell out.
two reasons: one is because if the united states wanted to uphold her laws she would prosecute the corporations and small businesses that ILLEGALLY hire undocumented immigrants and exploit them for their cheap labor for greater profits and for all citizens to benefit from

secondly, there is no law saying that immigrants must "assimilate" and speak English to be so-called true citizens of America!!!!!!!! freedom of expression affords me the right to speak any damn language i wish to speak and without trying to "act" or "look" like white folk of America......

and if you don't think race is an issue w/ immigration perhaps you haven't been on MyTend long enough to see its ugly head appear!!!!!!
Right on, it is not so many real citizens however, just the pathetic special interest groups
i agree , but you are only looking at part of the wider picture
I have no problem with "the US government upholding US laws" but I think you've been fooled into believing this is about immigration at all. While you're blaming the immigrants for all your troubles, the administration is busy doing all kinds of things in the background. Too many to mention, but check out Bush's superhighway from Mexico through the US to Canada. Check out Northcom and our new military restructure-the largest since the 1940s. Look up the "Amero", our new North american currency.

The media screams immigrants-that's just to keep you busy.
Let me be the next to call you a racist. Not because I believe it, but because it seems like you get off on it, and I aim to please. Okay, let's see... law enforcement is not about the law. Like, the law does not jump from the page and arrest people. It suffers from public perception from its long journey to the jury room from the paper its written on. The problem people have with law enforcement are its factual biases towards money and power. It's that simple. That fact makes law enforcement very difficult to trust from the perspective of those most challenged by it. Immigrants are commonly in this group.
Go to Australia.
Tonatiuh is incorrect. To be naturalized as a citizen you have to demonstrate an ability to speak English (limited, I admit, but you do have to be able to speak it nonetheless). You also have to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of the Constitution and demonstrate an attachment to those principles. Naturalized Americans have to demonstrate more patriotism than many natural-born ones.

There is nothing wrong with requiring immigrants to be legal. There is certainly nothing racist about it. Anyone who thinks that should consult a dictionary. As a legal immigrant, I disapprove of illegal immigrants as much as I disapprove of the multi-nationals who employ them here or who ship jobs offshore. Now there's an interesting thought. Business owners who profit from illegals (and outsourcing) get to enjoy the benefits of living in a fine country whilst their fellow citizens suffer either through having no job or having to work harder for no increase in pay. So lets penalize the business owners. Hit them in the wallet, big time. Use the money to offer incentives to businesses who support the economy. That would include no employment of illegals (who remove cash from the economy by sending it to their home country). End result - the honest business owner benefits because he or she does not have to compete against criminals and the average working American benefits because there are jobs to be had for those with the ability.

Yes, I know its a pipe-dream, but what do we have if we don't have hope?!
I don't know. We been through this once before: 1983 amnesty for millions, then '84 laws, then '86 laws - now we begin again.
When people like you refer people as breaking the law because they cannot assimilate or learn English, then no wonder why you've been called a RACIST "twice" today.
If they are illegal they are lawbreakers. I would say that people who support illegals either hire them or know one. The race card is a desperate measure on their part.
