Permanent Residents of US, do you plan to become a citizen? Why or Why Not?

I am a legal resident, currently in conditional status, but as soon as i get my permanent residency, i will apply for citizenship, only because I think it is the natural thing to do after coming this far. Having been through all the paperwork and interviews, I see it as a job half-done not to become a citizen. If for no other reason, then at least to be able to vote in presidential elections and have a say in who gets to run the country I've chosen to live in.

Permanent Resident of the US usually apply for US citizenship in order to achieved their American dream. For others, they do not want to become an American because USA is now being hated by many nationalities and the US economy is down compared to the booming China. Thus, there are many who opted to become Chinese nationals, instead.
yes but only because it makes it easier to reenter the US after visiting overseas. I don't have to be a citizen to honor the flag or the laws of the land. It is a toss up also because now US citizens have bullseyes on their backs when they travel, our country's reputation is in the toilet thanks to the government. I wish it was not like that but there it is. So on one hand, it is easier in terms of not needing visas to travel to certain countries but on the other the rep is making us targets.
Why bother? The rights of US citizens and those of illegal aliens seem to be about the same nowdays anyway.
As my husband told me and YES I AM A CITIZEN WHITE SKIN AND ALL! he did come here to fulfill his American dream,has everything nice and legal and is still greeted with "go back to your country you illegal *******". What way is that for any person to talk to another HUMAN being.My husband has worked hard starting his own business from nothing but a dream.Now its booming beyond his wildest dreams and still so much hate.Why has this wonderful country become this monster of hate.Awnser-FEAR,fear that one day after giving up everything they know and loved and becoming a citizen of this new love that one day that love will bite them in the #@$.Talk about your double edged sword!

well i am a citizen,but my father is still a resident and his answer to not becoming a citizen is that he fears that because of his age he will not be able to pass the citizenship test. and also he wishes to go back to mexico to retire after a few more years.
