I don't mind the legal ones - as long as they are contributing to our country rather than draining our benefit system. We don't have the resources to keep footing the bill for housing and benefits for all these illegal immigrants swamping the country just to take advantage of our system.

Far too many and to tell you the truth, the UK has lost that special appeal it had for me. Ten years ago it was not so, being British was unique. Now it is difficult to hear the English language on the streets of London. Whilst multiculturalism has its arguments, would it not have been better if as the English borders were open, the immigrants were also Anglicised.
Its is such a shame for the English people. You seem to have lost it. Travelling to the UK does not do it for me anymore.
Now with being Anglicised, obviously there is a certain expectation when you are on the job market which is that you'll at least be on a level playing field with other applicants. Now you have substandard people (mostly immigrants) being employed at times and this is because they are willing to accept below the minimum wage. Obviously as an employer, you are looking at cutting costs. So, there you go...

have you ever been out of the uk? (and no i dont mean some tourist resort in spain/france) the english are everywhere, taking over companies, polluting and firing people all over the world. and one CEO is worse that a thousand mcdonalds employees.

If they are illegal, I object. I remember reading books at uni, about the vast number of Italian immigrants in this country during the late thirties, although small numbers, in comparison with today's situation. They seemed to fit in well and mixed in with Londoners, without too many problems.
Last summer, I called in at a multicultural festival held in that very city. The people were really friendly polite and interested in everything about England. We have to meet them halfway. People aren't so much of a threat when you get to know them.
What offends me more are the mindless drunks spewing up all over the pavement, because they've had a sniff of the barmaids apron...
i am not sure whether you are legal or illegal, but I know you are not local because you can't spell foreigners correctly. it could be your disability in spelling that stops you from getting a job.
