I want to change my F-1 student visa in a H2 or permament visa. How do I do that? (US)?

Are there any ways that are easier for exchanging visa's? Any special type of permanent or worker visa that is easier to obtain? I want to start a small business in New York city. Do I have to prove financial sustenance from the get go? Or is there anyway that I can obtain a visa without financial proof?
