A Question For Christians against Immigration?
Hypothetically speaking What if Jesus came back as a Mexican?
When you pass away and have to answer for your actions
What will you say to him about your stand on immigration or race dividing? Do you think he would approve?
Answer:
DEAR CHRISTIAN REPUBLICANS
Leviticus 19:33
And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
Exodus 22:21 "You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 24:17 "You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow's garment in pledge.
Deuteronomy 24:18 "But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing
well if we have our border fence up he can't get in w/o a visa. So there will be no Apocalypse for the US. Yippie!
Somehow, rendering to Caesar comes to mind...
If Jesus was a Mexican, he would take LEGAL routes to citizenship.
Its not about race, stupid.
It's not about immigration, either.
We support immigration, no matter what race it is.
It's about breaking laws and criminal behavior or following the laws and doing it legally.
We're NOT against immigration.
We're against ILLEGAL residency - no matter what race the illegal may be.
Do you think Jesus supports lawbreakers? Didn't he tell us to follow the laws of the land?
I'm engaged to a Mexican American who is also against illegal invaders. Tell me I'm "race dividing". ON TOP OF THAT, "Mexican" is not a race. It's a nationality. People of Mexico are considered "Hispanic Caucasians".
STOP MAKING THIS A MATTER OF RACE. IT'S NOT.
Dude, it has nothing to do with faith. There are too many illegals here. We can't have all of them! Besides, they broke the law. If they want to be American citizens, they will be treated like American citizens to the full extent of the law. Take your bleeding heart else where, cause you obviously have no sense.
Do you think Jesus would approve of breaking an not-unjust law?
The Bible says obey the laws of the land. The law says that you can not come into the US illegally.
If Jesus came back as a Mexican, he would move here Legally.
No one is against immigration. That is different from illegal immigration. If Jesus wanted to get in the country, he probably would not break the law to get in!
Please don't mix religion with law.
In all fairness, what would God think about people who expected everything to be handed to them, people who wanted everything without earning it?
And for the record, we're against illegal immigration.
har har! using religion to excuse illegal activities...precious!
CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME
Why are you not asking the Christians of Mexico this question. Their country is rich in natural resources and capital, so why are they forcing their poverty stricken Christians to risk their life's for the crumbs in American
There is a difference in a Christian and saying you are a Christian.I believe most Christians are humanitarians and they support people that need help including illegals.
Christians do not come up with excuses.
The increased use of Christ for political issues is disgusting. Somehow, I think Christ would be more concerned with changing Mexico into a country more hospitable to its own citizens.
I don't think the immigration issue is about keeping LEGAL immigrants from entering the country...but ILLEGAL immigrants.
Rules have been in place to protect those issues represented. This country already has enough problems forking out billions of dollars to other countries despite our own problems here.
By allowing illegal immigration into the country...we're putting an even greater burden on our already overburdened tax system.
I think when Jesus comes back...he'll be Jesus!
Best wishes.
I have no problem with immigration. Let everyone who wants to immigrate, immigrate. However, let them do so legally.
You should be a shame of yourself!!!!!
I really hope jesus is a mexican, because then maybe we would finally get some respect.Except of all this hatred!
I will answer with a clean conscience.
How will the illegal aliens, regardless of ethnicity, that break the law, and steal from this country answer?
Did Jesus not say to "give to Caesar what is Caesar's?"
Doesn't that mean in essence to obey the civil laws of your host country?
EDIT:
God is all races, and none. He is an eternal being who is above such trivialities. My only problem is with people who BREAK THE LAW to enter the United States. It would always be regardless of the ethnicity or religion of the largest offending group.
tx_trotter: I agree, I think the Lord would be disgusted. Using His name to justify politics is no different than using His name to justify radical interpretations of religion.
Excellent question. Why? Simply because it exposes the racists who frequent here. The same ones who believe Jesus was a rare breed of Caucasian Semite; That English is our official language; That God gave us the land (and took it away from the indigenous peoples);
By the way, read your Bibles:
Leviticus says:
'The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the LORD your God"
And Deuteronomy says:
"So show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt
I think he would agree...charity begins at home.
Mexicans are not a race, but a nationality.
Jesus was an advocate of obeying civil laws-at least ones that did not put morality at risk (like worshipping the king). In this case, I think he would be harder on the people who broke the laws coming into our nation illegally to take advantage of our generosity. Our immigration laws have nothing to do with race. It just happens to be the case that most of the people coming across our border illegally are Mexican. That's only because there are only two nations that border the U.S., and not many people really care to leave Canada for the U.S. People who try to get here by boat or plane are much easier to track and prevent from getting here in the first place.
Yeah, I'm a christian too but I am still against illegal immigration. It is not ok to be forgiven for breaking the laws. Laws and faith are two different things. When I pass away I'm sure I will not be asked my standpoint on immigration. If I was, I'd still say no illegal immigration.
Like most of extremists posting here, you REFUSE to acknowledge the difference between legal immigrants and criminals who crossed our borders without permission.
If you really want to do the bible thing, remember the line "Render unto Caeser the things that are Caeser's". Jesus was pointing out that his followers still have to follow the LAW of the state.
God wanted the races to be divided, Jesus would obey the law of the land, READ YOUR BIBLE
Would Jesus support the rampant drug running on Mexico? Would Jesus support the ubiquitous corruption at all levels in Mexico? Would Jesus praise the incessant killings and slaughtering of random people including elected officials and journalists in Mexico? Would Jesus praise the influx of bloodthristy gangsters to another country?
First and foremost, most Mexicans are NOT Christians. They are Catholic. And most that are here, don't even go to church. If you notice, Catholics are against birth control. I do see Mexican families getting smaller and larger age spans between the children. Therefore they are not even practicing Catholism regularly.
Jesus would've followed the law and would've entered the U.S.A. legally. Remember, he wasn't a sinner. He was/ continues to be perfect. And we're not against immigration, we're against illegal immigration. So stop using the race card. Because it is not working. And by the way, most Mexicans are Catholic.
