My husband is a holder of 457 visa in australia can he sponsor me?

he holds a 457 visa as of jan 4, 2007 what are the benifits of such visa can he sponsor our independent children?
can i go there as soon as possible?
how many months can he sponsor us?
how much money are we going to spent?

Answer:
A 457 visa does not allow him to "sponsor" relatives; rather, he can apply to have dependent relatives included on his visa.

As long as you are married you can apply to be included onto his visa as a dependent. The company that are sponsoring him will need to extend the sponsorship to you. Your visa will be valid for the same period of time as your husband's visa.

Independent children can not be included.

The visa application charge is $170.
