If I wanted to move to Australia from America to be a RN there, what city would you recommend to live in?

I honestly have no clue about Australian cities. I love the country and have wanted to live there my whole life. I want to be in a somewhat secluded area but close to hospitals and clinics. Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated and have a great day :o)

It's probably better if you specify other characteristics that you prefer, weather-wise, age of the general population, etc. There are 5 different states in Australia, and a lot of us thinks that our state is best :) especially if you are only looking for 'secluded' and 'close to hospitals and clinics'. One of the best towns in Victoria, called Warrnambool fits your description, my friends parents moved there a few years ago when they retire because it's a tourist town (known for the whale nurseries) that's starting to grow and because it's close to the medical facilities. However, as with all secluded towns, you will need to have a car and be able to drive if you want to go around because public transport other than taxis is non-existent outsite the city and the city suburbs.

I will actually suggest either Launceston or Hobart in Tasmania because both cities are as big as a country town in NSW (where Sydney is) or VIC (where Melbourne is). Tasmania itself is a state of country towns, full of nature, great marine and dairy industries. However, public transport (other than taxis) in the cities are fairly minimal and each city has only one major hospital.

Due to the reasons above, I recommend applying to a hospital in one of the major cities before deciding where exactly you want to spend the rest of your life :)

I also posted a link on various health facilities in different states, it might help you make a decision. Reading through the info at a glance, it looks like Victoria has the most hospitals.
Hey if you really want to be out of the way of alot of people and problems then I suggest taking a look at the Tasmania's north west coast, the area has good schools, 2 good hospitals and a fair bit of work around at the moment in health....you are a only anywhere from 45 minutes from Launceston if you need anything you cant get on the coast and the roads in the area are genreally of a high standard, this is me talking though as I head there (north west) on a regular basis as I have family in Burnie..

for more advice on the area I think you should take a look at the following websites

www,latrobe,tas,gov,au
www,dcc.tas.gov.au
www.burnie.net
www.warwyn.tas.gov.au
www.centralcoast.tas.gov.au

these are all local council sites and will give you all the information you need, they also have sections to contact them if you have questoins or you can email me about the area.

hope this helps

Move to anywhere in the country that is rural, our hospitals are screaming out for more nurses and doctors. But then again I suppose the city hospitals are too, if you love the country it doesn't matter where you end up you will be happy.
Come to Melbourne.....the suburbs of Melbourne are just great to live and the weather is too good...you never become bored of it. In any day it changes totally from sunny to cloudy to rainy to chilly. The people are nice here and very peaceful too. No complication, good arrangements of hospitals etc.
im not sure what city but you couldnt go wrong living in the state of queensland.
The government is looking to get nurses into regional Australia (which translates as country holes). So my advice is to move to a major city such as Sydney or Melbourne. If you don't like city life (remembering that Australian cities are small when compared to cities internationally) you can move later. It may be much harder to do things the other way round.
