Should i apply for a fiance visa first?
Answer:
I agree with those who say that you should get to know her physically first. I met my darling wife online and, although we knew a lot about each other before we met, things were different afterwards. She may have some really annoying habits you really can't live with.
Just relax and enjoy being with her. Then come home and think about what you both want. The fiancee visa from the UK is really very simple. Engage an immigration attorney and it will be almost painless, except in the wallet! You can probably immigrate her in six months or less. Remember that she cannot visit the USA whilst the application is pending.
You sir are way too young to get married . That is all .
You can not apply for a financee visa before you have physically met her. ICE won't accept your application. One of the conditions of the K-1 visa is you must have physically met, and you haven't. Keep all receipts, credit card statements, luggage tags, ticket stubs, itinerary, and any other papers or docs that show you were there...PLUS take pics with her, and you and recognizable landmarks (i.e. Stonehenge, Big Ben, Castles , etc) and with her family. You will use this to apply for a K-1 Visa. This process, by the time you are done, maybe between $5000-$10,000 in costs. Good Luck
I would wait until you have met her in person. My wife is from Moldova and we had to go the fiance visa route. One of the questions that they ask you is if you have ever seen her in person. Im not sure how much this matters but if they reget the petition the first time it will take evenlonger the second.
In my opinion you should see how it goes face-to-face, towards the end of the six months if everything is working out you can start the procedures to get the fiance visa.
Your partner would need to be able to show that she can support and accommodate you, although you would have the right to work once you were back in UK.
The visa might take a couple of months to come through if there are no problems. You would need to attend an interview at the British embassy to demonstrate tht it is a bona fide marriage, and you would have to marry within six months. I'm not sure, but you could probably ask for the visa not to begin immediately, if, say, you wanted the wedding to take place a little later.
The best thing would be for you both to go to a Law Centre or Citizens' Advice Bureau for some free advice.
Good luck!
Unfortunately they do require evidence that you have actually met each other before you can apply for a fiance visa. Best thing to do is just go over to there for a long holiday, get to know each other, and then get engaged properly. Have fun, take loads of photographs of the both of you. Then go back home and apply for the visa. :-)
You must apply for a Fiance visa from the British Embassy in the US. With this visa, you will then be allowed to give notice to marry in the UK. The new rules is that you must give this notice before you leave the US. If your in the UK on a student visa exceeding 6 months, you can apply for a COA for marriage. But if your in the UK on a tourist visa, then you must apply in the US.
