My fiance petition took almost a year , Then i had to go for interview at US embassy. Only then did they give me my visa. I have been in U.S since May 2006, Still waiting for my Perminant resident visa to be approved.
I have a friend with a wife in china he was told it will most likly take a year for her to immgrate
What method of payment did you use to send in the required fee?
If you sent a personal check for the fee, check you bank account to see if the check has cleared your account. If it has cleared, you should be able to get your case number from the back of the check, which you can then use to check your status online on USCIS's website.
If you sent another form of payment such as a money order, then there's really not much you can do except wait. You could try calling the USCIS customer service line, but without a case number I don't think they will be able to help you.
You might want to wait another month for a response and if none, then try sending the application again, but use a personal check for the payment, that way you can tell if it is being processed. They don't cash the checks unless it has been accepted and is given a case number for processing.
