This is not a country of immigrants any more than any other country in the world. People move. People change their environment as much as it changes them. Unfortunately, America's history is riddled with the prejudice of the day on whatever boom of immigrants are coming in. I don't agree with illegal immigration. I am against Amnesty. However, I do believe that the mainly reactionary fighting between Hispanics and "the rest of America" is just a symptom of a much bigger disease. The most American Patriot is the one who is willing to fight and die for someone who wouldn't do the same. The one that will shout at the top of his lungs the rights of others to shout at the top of theirs an opinion that differs from his own. The one that is compassionate for the world, but not blind to the dangers inside his own borders. The one always out with a helping hand, but always with gun at the ready to protect himself and innocents around him. The most American Patriot is the one that can be spat upon, kicked down, degraded, called racist, and still -STILL- get up, brush himself off and continue on with the Great Experiment. He is the one that puts Rational Thought above Personal Agenda!

The country is made up of legal citizens: immigrants or born to parents who are citizens. There is no greatest patriot as there cannot be someone more equal than the others. Illegal immigrants have made a conscious choice to to gnaw at the foundations of the country which is intolerable and will be punished.
