I think that Iraq has satisfied whatever bloodthirstiness many Americans may have felt after 9/11, and right now America isn't feeling very good about itself. The threats of terrorism are still out there, and all that's been accomplished is the killing of way too many civilians and young soldiers.
I think America is now looking to create something positive, something to be proud of and to hold up to the world as a reflection of its true self. And a war with 13 million desperate illegal immigrants isn't it.
America won't support this "war on illegals". America has had enough of war.
guess it helps the illegal immigrants in the long run but short term theres not much help. it just makes more of the nations attention put on illegal immigrants and not always in a positive way. people have to accept people but its not that simple as you can see.
Americans have had it from both parties. Social security to illegals, food stamps sec 8 housing, the in ability to get the renting of apartments mad illegal. And possibly Amnesty for 30 million more open begging mouths. No it doesent matter, the main stream of Americans have had it and theres no amount of dribble from the illegal backers can stop the frustration. Its over, stepo by step. Even here in OC the cops arare deprting from Jails and this trend is exploding around the country, oue sheriffs will lead the way...
i think it will draw attention from the right wing, and people will start to see more that mexicans are a threat, and they will start to pass more agresive laws against mexicans.
I am not sure how one event will effect the situation. I think that the knowledge on the subject is growing amungst Americans. Bottom line is that unless you are a Native American, or a Mexican American in the Southwest. You are also an Immigrant, or you have Immigrants in your family. I think that the whole issue is silly. I think more and more people are becoming aware of the fact that most illegal immigrants are not working as Lawyers, Judges, or even Managers. The jobs that these people are taking are those jobs the American citizens don't want. They work for below the minimum wage mark, and sometimes only get payed in food and shelter. American's should be thankful for the immigrants in this country, for they are the ones who built this country.
Well,we can see that you either hire them or have someone in the family who is illegal. If A.N.S.W.E.R and La Raza can rally illegals to protest.you and all your illegal loving friends can not stop the US citizens who are against them. In the marches across the country last year, a lot of politicians came out to show support. Have you ever considered that some have different points of view, which does not necessarily mean they are bigots? Also, murder has been advocated for both illegal immigrants as well as those who are against illegal immigration. It isn't as if everyone against illegal immigration is a big, horrible monster. Perhaps you should realize that people in this country have different viewpoints, and everyone who disagrees with you is not a bigot.

The majority of Americans are now wanting illegal aliens deported because of illegal aliens disrupted cities and carried signs that said Americans should go back to Europe. Cities streets were closed while Mexicans wrongly claimed this land belongs to Mexico.
