It is a fact that there are many communist political parties in democratic countries which have many members and receive a lot of votes and even win offices... so don't tell me that all communists are dictators. In immigration papers to the United States, applicants must swear (legally) that they have never been members of any Communist party or labor union. What do you think? Is this acceptable now that the USSR no longer exists? Would it have been acceptable when they did exist, and if so, why would it not be acceptable now?

USCIS has always asked this question as long as I can remember.I guess they don't want someone in the country who is planning on overthrowing the government or someone who would be a threat to national security.
