Kulturkrieg.- Are the Irish , Mexican , German, Italian cultures, part of the American Culture?
then define American Culture, again please... thank you.
Answer:
More than a melting pot, we are a mixing bowl. American Culture is a little bit of everything, it depends where you live, each city in each county in each state are different each other.
There is not and never has been a American Culture , but there is a American Creed of which all Americans should read , to understand why and who we are as a Nation .

Educate yourself , American People
I believe all immigrant sub cultures blend to make a unique American culture that is constantly changing, but when a sub culture deters the progress of this country I believe it should not be welcomed with opened arms.
All those nationalities or groups named above, enriched our American identity.
The thing that stands out most about those cultures and how they are part of the American Culture? The fact that ALL of those very different people came here to these United States and declared America THEIR nation. They didn't shove their culture from where they originated down Americans throat. They learned ENGLISH and wanted to be here...nor did they send millions of dollars back to their country of origin.
They are PROUD to be AMERICAN!
Different cultures tended to settle in different areas. Where I live, there is a lot of Italian, Irish and Polish heritage. We can buy pierogies, keilbasa, haluski, halupki, pasties and potato pancakes. It's general knowledge to know a few main words in each of these languages, but when you come across someone who (legally) emigrated from one of these nations, they respect the flag and our servicemen, and tell stories of how they ended up a citizen of the USA. However, not one of them tried to invade the entire United States and force-feed their native tongue upon those already here!
American culture started as primarily English and German because those were the two largest groups in the beginning of the country. (They debated whether to use English or German as the national language and came down on English.) Then with immigration, taking over our southern states and Louisiana, a lot more cultures came into the picture. We are a melting pot and every culture here adds to the flavor. The problem people have is with a segregated single culture attaching to the cooperatively blending culture as a counterpoint. That is where the multicultural vs. melting pot comes into play.
