Answer:
Yes, but it will dramatically slow down the already sluggish immigration process.
Absolutely!
definitely do.
they already are, it is obvious how little you know about the time-consuming thing we call immigration.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. We have too many murderers and molesters that are natural citizens over here already.
The National-Union believes that immigrants, foreigners visiting America for a short period should be subject to a criminal background check to make sure they haven't been involved in terrorism. Additionally, immigrants should be monitor each renewal of their visa that apply for specific jobs potential vehicles for terrorism, http://www.voteprimous.com
and a health check....they are bringing many drug resistant diseases into the USA - diseases we had eradicated decades ago but which have now mutated to become drug resistant...14 American children were given the drug resistant strain of TB by an illegal mexican cafeteria worker in their school before she was "found out"
Legal immigrants go through criminal background checks weeks before the come here in the US. However, the problem is the illegals. They come here without paper works...thats why they are illegal....right?????
They already are. And they have to have a medical check, too. If you want a green card you have to do both of those things. If you sneak in, how would someone know you are here to do a check? Duh!
Absolutely however, this is only benificial if the country they come from was diligent in recording such incidents that can be tapped into via our computer systems. There are too many countries that simply do not have the funding to document this type of information via computer.
The Illegals are the problem....how do we get them to go through the background checks??? We don't know who they are.......
Even I think that there should be a background (criminal) and then if there are no records then the immigrant should be given a probational period watched closely.
Legal immigrants do go through a background check.
Legal immigrants have a lower proportionate criminal rate than our general population here.
It is only the illegal immigrants where abour 4% of our population = about 30% of our prison population, countrywide.
Of course! Here's why!
Work Paid Under the Table - No Taxes
> 62% of all "undocumented immigrants" (illegal aliens) in the United States are working for cash and not paying taxes;
> Those working illegal aliens who are paying taxes are doing so by use of stolen social security numbers, a felony.
Crime
> 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens;
> 83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix are for illegal aliens;
> 86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque are for illegal aliens;
> 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Albuquerque are illegal aliens;
> 24.9% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally;
> 40.1% of all inmates in Arizona detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally;
> 48.2% of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally;
> 29% (630,000) convicted illegal alien felons fill our state and federal prisons at a cost of $1.6 billion annually;
> More than 53% of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens;
> More than half of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens from south of the border;
Car Thefts/ Traffic Violations
> More than 71% of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by illegal aliens or transport coyotes";
> 47% of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 47%, 92% are illegal aliens;
> 63% of cited/stopped drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 63%, 97% are illegal aliens;
> 66% of cited/stopped drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66%, 98% are illegal aliens;
The Cost of Health Benefits
> More than 380,000 "anchor babies" were born in the United States in 2005 were to parents who are illegal aliens; making those 380,000 babies automatically U.S. citizens. 97.2% of all costs concurred from those births were paid by the American taxpayer;
> More than 66% of all births in California are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers;
The Cost of Welfare
> More than 43% of all Food Stamps issued are to illegal aliens;
> More than 41% of all unemployment checks issued in the United States are to illegal aliens;
> 58% of all Welfare payments in the United States are issued to illegal aliens;
> Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties in the United States are illegal aliens;
> More than 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
> Less than 2% of illegal aliens in the United States are picking crops , but 41% are on welfare;
The Cost of Education
> More than 34% of Arizona students in grades 1-12 are illegal aliens;
> More than 24% of Arizona students in grades 1-12 are non-English-speaking;
> More than 39% of California students in grades 1-12 are illegal aliens;
More than 42% of California students in grades 1-12 are non-English-speaking. In Los Angeles County, 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak Spanish;
Costs to American Tax Payers
> The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a NET (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University];
> The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average adult Mexican ILLEGAL alien is $55,000.00 cost to the American taxpayer in a 5-year
They already have a background check. When I applied for my resident card they investigated even the way I walk XD... not really but you get the point.
They should be checked. There are so many murders we hear about that are done by Mexicans that have been deported several times.
Then there's the drug smugglers that are caught by agents, maybe shot in the butt, and the agents are going to spend over a decade in Federal prison for DOING THEIR JOB.
The problem is when they find that a bad guy, they have this stupid "catch and release" program. Anybody that thinks that the illegal alien criminal is going to show up at their hearing is stupid.
The U.S. conducts their own background check, and they are required to provide a certified criminal record check from the police in every nation they have lived for more than six months. Whether they should be or not, and I guess it's fair but in my wife's case, it has proven inconvenient because the police in Ireland don't have their **ยบ* together, it is already a requirement for legal immigration to the U.S., and in many cases (depending on the country of origen) to acquire a tourist visa.
I'd also like to add that they have to swear that they have never been a member of a Communist organization or a labor union. I'm dead serious. Come on guys, the 50s are gone and this is still around. There is a democratic Communist political party in most nations of the world, and in many nations they're doing rather well.
How smart of you! hmmmm not, they already are.
You really should know what you are talking about before asking questions. BECAUSE THEY DO! Why on earth do you think they take fingerprints? And then where do you think they send them??
My husband went through all of this thats how i know
to become a lawfull permanent resident of the USA you have to do all that (criminal background, drug test ,medical examination)
NEWS FLASH: ?All aliens that come legally to U.S have to furnish Police reports from their countries. The Police report has to state what states/provinces alien has resided and all misdemeanors and felony's that may have been commited by said alien.
