Most illegal immigrants are afraid of deportation especially those who come from countries with a high rate of corruption. Many flee in fear of their lives and deportation may mean death. Have you heard about the murders in Jaurez? Would you want to go back there? People are also scared because crossing the border illegally is risky and each deportation and subsequent re-crossing is dangerous.

I belive it. I feel sorry for people having to live their lives in fear. Nobody should have to be scared everyday in fear of getting deported.

Well obviously. I mean afterall, if deported they will be torn apart from their families, which is their main concern. And they will be going back to what exactly they wanted to escape.
While I do feel the answer is obvious, I would like to add that you are referring to "illegal" people. If they are illegal then they have committed a crime and they should fear the law which states that they should be deported.
That's why we have law enforcement anyway right? To instill fear and respect for laws.

That's understandable since they have it better here than we do. I wouldn't want to lose what they get IF I could get it. And they should be scared after what they did last May. Did they think disrespecting us would make us like them better? They lost a lot of sympathy that day, and should be trying to make amends, not more demands.

Its a chance they seem prepared to take by the number that are here in the USA.If I had committed a federal crime, I think I too would be afraid.
But since this is a situation that they themselves created,I cant feel a lot of sympathy.They knew what they were doing by entering this nation illegally and they also knew what could happen if they get caught.
Oh yes, I knew that. We used to drive around when we where teenagers and yell at them that INS was coming. I've never seen someone run so fast in my life. I know it sounds mean, but hey, we were kids...
in DFW area they are very blatent & cocky about lack of immigration enforcement....

I have no sympathy for any of them, even the kids. They are taking services that they don't deserve. They think it is their RIGHT and it makes me soooooooo mad. I think most people would like to be taken care of but in the real world, you have to EARN what you get. The illegal alien criminals take, not earn.

yes i know a few illegals and during the last census the illegals wouldnt answer their door so they had to make a public service annoucements at our cost to tell them not to be scared to answer the door and what a census is. so yes i know indeed they are scared as they should be !
