I will recomend that you shut go to the Embasy of that country and they will answer better all tha questions you have about moving to that country. go to Yahoo searc and put UK Embasis in the USA and you will find the list there. or UK goverment.
I would would stay until the six months is up, use the time to settle down find your way around, get married and than apply. If you apply ahead you dont know how long the wait is gonna be.
