Why is there so much animosity between Mexican-Americans and Cuban-Americans?

I purposely didn't read others response because I wanted to tell what I was told.
When people from the European countries settled here.there was was a big whoopie-dee-do as to whether you were English or Scottish or Polish or German.etc. Same race.but some thought for one reason or another that one was "better" than the other. I have talked to numerous "latino" people and in the "latino race" they too have developed a sense of heirechy.
Now granted this is a view from a handful of people but it goes like this.Spanish, Portugal, South America, Pureto Rico, Cuban, Mexico. I was told this from a latino person (quote) Mexicans are the "roaches of life" and they were ASHAMED to admit they were of the same "race".
Well...being "white" I guess that explaines why Irish were less valued than slaves from Africa. But.I'm part Irish so I don't know what to think. I'm also a part of the awful German race and my husband is the STUPID Polish race. (LOL) There's people from Jamaica who's "black" people act differently from those from Haiti or from Africa and they are also very much a part of South America, Mexico and the US. They are KILLING people in Africa because they aren't "black enough". They are doing this "black enough"."too white".all over this globe. Now these idiots are wondering if they're too brown or not brown enough. LORD help us when they go into the shades of yellow.
People do the best they can and Germans aren't BETTER than English, and Polish aren't BETTER than Scotts...geeze...now I guess we have to go to North Ireland Vs South Ireland. Arabs vs Isralies, vs Pakistan, vs India and .please..where does it stop.
Personally speaking I think "Whites" have gotten over "who' the best in this race". I think Blacks are on their way.. I honestly don't know yet about the asian...but the Lationos are still fighting like 2 yr.

Because of Castro Cubans are given the okay to cross the boarders illegally and Mexicans are not. It's a double standard and that's why there's animosity. The same thing with Haitians who come to America illegally, they'll send the Haitians and Mexicans back, but not the Cubans; A way of giving Castro the finger if you know what I mean.

Because the US has fought a defacto war against the Cuban dictatorship for 43 years and courted the votes and financial contributions of wealthy Cuban-Americans who escaped Castro's tyrrany. On the other hand the US has supported the corrupt governments of Mexico that repress public will and broad economic advancement, forcing millions across the border illegally.
The C-As take a 'conservative' stance against what they see as the lazy unwashed mass of M-As and the M-As naturally resent their cruel, anti-human ideological stance.
Cause many don't respect or attempt to appreciate our culture and would rather isolate themselves and their communities and expect a handout from our tax dollars.
A number of things. But the core of it has to do with class. Remember both those countries are highly stratified class societies--in a way the US has never been, so its hard for us to understand.
Cuban-Americans are drawn mostly from the Cuban elite--especially the oldest. They were the elite who benefitted from the Batista dictatorship--and don't like, sympathasize, or trust the lower class.
Most Mexican-Americans, by contrast ( or their parents/grandparents) came from the working/peasant clas. And they tend to regard the elite with some suspicion.
And--for both--there is no common nationality to mediate the potential hostility. Granted, many in both groups have been born and raised in the US-but they've also got those cultural ideas and influence from their parents.

It depends on who you are associating with, same as any other culture. It isn't a racial thing.
