Immigration question....?
My question is my husband is going to get a working visa,What happens when he gets here to the united state? What I should do? Do I have to change the application or what?
Answer:
I hope his visa is H1B (Not L or other stuff).
If he tries to enter US on non immigrant visa, while married to US Citizen, he will be deported on Port of Entry, Since he has an immigration intent.
H1B Is a dual purpose visa (Immigration/NonImmigration), so it should be OK, but no guarantees. He might be asked at POE, whether he is intending to immigrate, he needs to say that he has an american wife, but H1B is dual intent (They might not know that - happens all the time).
Once he arrives In US, You can request to transfer I-130 to nearby ofice for further processing. (So once it get approved it goes not to dominican consulate, but you local office).
not chnage the application but let immigration know the new details, because if u dont and sometime down the road he gets arrestted or something he could get even more trouble. Notify them right away!
