Well for one it's not 'immigration' it's now 'migration' (a clever switch over). The US people should be furious at the border situation compromising the safety of citizens. Only 60% of illegals are Mexican. This govt needs to be reminded the Constitution says 'a Govt of the people, for the people and BY the people'. They seem to be making a greedy mess of things.
The blockade against Cuba is going to Finnish and the Cuban exile status is going to be derogated. Cuba will be freed and Cubans are going back to their loved country.
As of right now, none. We really do not need, nor want immigration reform. We need enforcement of immigration laws we have in place.
I could let you know the discussion (or you can check my last questions in my Q&A) but it won't tell you anything. Kennedy is starting where he left off but Republicans are moving slightly differently (see below) and the House is apparantly on a different track. Everything fell apart in negotiations at the end of the week. However, a lot of people are working on this right now.

There's just talk and non-binding resolutions. I laughed when I read that Bush had signed to build that 700 mile fence last year, but didn't include any funding to build the fence in the law which was going to cost 2.5 billion dollars (?). I guess he thinks the contingent states should fund it.
