Do Americans that live in the southern states speak English?

You know that ya'll have a hard time understanding them. Can you imagine the frustration we go through learning proper english and find ourselves with a redneck?

Answer:
lol hefe. I live in Alabama and sure I understand what you're saying. I have been around people in the hills of Tenessee that I could not understand, I mean, they really had their own form of talking: It was muffled and a little nasal. I know it was English, but I could only understand maybe one of every five to seven words. I say "Y'all" too, but alot of folks in east TN say "You-uns" or "You-unses". We are all so different, but I think that is good. We're all alike in many ways too. Thank you for taking the time to learn English.
Yes it is English but spoken with a charming southern drawl, you don't like the drawl then I suggest you move somewhere else.
Actually, studies have shown that the southern states speak a version of the language far closer to the former Queen's English than the northern states do. That's only one reason that British actors and actresses do such excellent southern accents.
And what you call the boston accent an english language, how about wisconsin a.
You're just jealous.
You sound like the Teacher in the Peanut Cartoons. Blah Blah Blah Blah.
And you expect us to learn your barrio Spanish? No mames guey!

I'm on your side with thinking America needs to embrace Spanish but you're spitting in my face.

You might want to step back & re-think your questions. You don't seem to even understand who is FOR you and who is AGAINST you!
Yes the American people in the southeast do... But the border jumpers don't. Some of them do though...
I'd rather listen to someone with a Southern accent than one with a Northern one.

Just imagine Ted Kennedy as a woman. Yikes!!!!
