Why are you so upset that we speak SPANISH?

JUST PRESS ONE FOR ENGLISH.

Answer:
Hey Dude I speak 5 Languages you don't know what the hell you are talking about!
I thought you were Native American. Are you having an Identity crisis or are you denouncing your Heritage. Do your Elders know you are disgracing them? Bad boy!
If I moved to Mexico I would have no problem learning Spanish.

Does that make sense?
Why are you so upset that we speak English?
I don't care what you speak....doesn't matter to me.

But, if you are in the USA and you need to communicate with anyone....at least know English.
it does not upset me. people who only speak Spanish are hurting themselves. we do live in America.
Well in America, we shouldn't have to press one for English. I don't think anyone is upset you speak Spanish either.
It is frustrating not to understand what another person is saying. Sometimes it makes us feel stupid. So, some Americans deal with those frustrations by attacking the people who aren't speaking English. If we required bilingual education, the way most of the rest of the Western World does, I don't think people would feel as threatened by you speaking Spanish.
I don't mind you speaking Spanish but I think if you live here for more than a year, you should learn English.
Why would you want to, This is America, Speaking it in front of others is Rude, mostly becuase you do it because others don't understand.
I'm not.

.
THIS IS AMERICA . . .
WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PRESS ONE FOR ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Because if we visit another country,we have to get a translator or a translating dictionary to be able to communicate with the locals and get what we need or want, right? In the U.S.A.,we speak ENGLISH. So.....11111111111111111111111...
I'm from Florida and it doesn't bother me one bit!
Because every race and culture that has assimilated into the United States has learned English as the standard basis for communication. Now, the standard has been reversed. New immigrants expect people who already live here to learn Spanish to accommodate them. That would be like flying to Beijing and expecting everyone there to learn English to speak with you despite you visiting China.

Everyone is welcome to speak whatever language to each other that they choose to. Though, for the sake of having everyone in our country to be able to communicate with one another, there needs to be a standard. The standard has been established, and the language is English.
Because this is America. Because we don't all speak Spanish, and because no one pandered to my great grandparents when they arrived from foreign countries. They had to learn English to make it. Speak Spanish amongst yourselves, that's fine, but please speak English when you are dealing with Americans. We shouldn't have to learn YOUR language because you want to work and live here. You can go and learn English for free.
A lot of us aren't upset that you speak Spanish. It's great to see diversity here, and that you hold strong to your heritage

What bothers some of us, is those who seek residence here and NEVER bother to learn English. It's ok to be bilingual. But, it's not ok to disrespect the country that is helping you, by not even bothering to learn the language it was founded on, and operates on.
I am not upset by people speaking Spanish although I do not understand a word. I am a sign language interpreter and when I am talking to a Deaf person and a hearing person that does not know sign language I do not want anyone to feel left out or feel like I am talking negatively about them to the other person, so I work hard to keep the lines of communication open. I am only offended when I am with coworkers or friends and the both speak Spanish and English but choose to speak Spanish in front of me, knowing that I do not know what is happening!
Speak Spanish all you want. Just try not to be too upset when employers (you know, the ones with the power to hire or not hire) want people who can converse in English.

Also.. you are aware, aren't you, that being bilingual doesn't mean "speaks Spanish and English." My niece speaks French and English. The kids I take care of speak Mandarin Chinese and English. My bro-in-law speaks Russian, Chinese, English, Swedish, French, and Spanish.
I'd say that the best second language a person in America should learn is Japanese.
Well Sapnish is 2nd only to Madarin Chinese , when it comes to first language speakers. So, the people from Germainc dialects (Espaecially English)often find it besetting to their cultural survival when they see Spanish as one of the most highly spoken laguages especially in Latin America.
Because you're straining their pointer finger by making them choose one for English.
Yeah, what Danny K said. And it's not only pressing one for English either. Why should I have to pay for HBOL with my cable package? Yeah, what CB said.
It is infuriating to have to deal with it every time you make a call. If these people can't even speak English they can't be reading the info that says to call the number to begin with. If Spanish only speakers need to call for help give them their own number to call.

Why the hell should the rest of the English speaking country be forced to listen to it?
Becuase you're just an anti trying to bait answers.
What? yahoo recently deleted your account and now spend your time impersonating a spanish speaker?
get a life!
people who are upset that others speak another language are plain ignorant. its downright bigoted to think someone ought be stripped of their culture. the thought that two people conversing in another language must be talking about YOU is altogether PARANOID. those people should probably seek help. its comfortable to speak in your native tongue when and where you can.
sure it's upsetting not being able to communicate, but then again, these panties-in-a-bunch types never took the time to learn spanish, now did they?
I'm not as most of you don't speak Spanish, you speak Mexican. I speak Spanish and when Mexican speakers talk or insult Whites when they think they don't understand, well, it's annoying, but only mildly so.
I am learning another language but it is not Spanish. Supprised ? yes there other languages out there other than Spanish.
By the way Spanish spoken in Mexico is a language of conquest. When the Europeans brought real SPANISH to mexico it was forced upon the people that inhibited Mexico at that time.
I hate it when I'm speaking spanish with my friends and some1 who dosen't speak it pops up and says "Speak English this is America" pfft who are they to tell me in what language i should talk?? This is a free country and I can speak spanish if I want too, honestly I've heard people speaking in other languages and I am not annoyed by it, on the contrary I like listening to them cuz their language sounds interesting... I sometimes watch movies in French even tho I can't understand it just for fun cuz I wanna learn it. So I don't get why people get so annoyed by this..... If you don't understand oh well, go and learn spanish. And anyway in most spanish countries English is taught to students and sometimes is mandatory... so I think american kids should also try to learn spanish...it being the second most spoken language in the U.S....
I think people fear what they don't understand. I absolutely love to hear Spanish being spoken. I do however feel that everyone that comes to the US should learn English. However, I don't feel anyone should give up their heritage.

I don't really think it's about Spanish but more along the lines of narrow minded people not wanting to hear any other language except English being spoken in public, which is ridiculous. I had to learn German when I was stationed there and I feel everyone should learn the language and the customs of the land they reside. It is very easy to offend someone when you don't know how they think.
i'm not upset that you speak spanish and americans aren't too stupid to learn another language. when you come to another country it just makes sense to use the common language there. for example if i was to move to mexico i would do my best to learn spanish first (which i am actually doing right now, even though i have no intention of moving to mexico). i think everyone should learn at least 2 languages no matter where they live because it makes you smarter and able to communicate with more people.
When in Rome...
Well, as an american having lived abroad in germany, italy and china, i guess i am an anomaly, i read, write and speak all those languages, but in America, i expect you to speak english. I never expected germans, italians and the chinese to know english, i spoke theirs.
