Has the INS or whatever they're called, deported an illegal to the wrong country?

Has there been a Guatemalan deported to Mexico by accident? How often do these things happen? I would be miserable if I was deported to the wrong country!

Answer:
When they deport illegals, I really don't care what country they end up in, as long as they get the hell out of here. I wish they would just put them on the next flight out of this Country.

But it is true most illegals do lie and say they are from Mexico, because it is the closet Country to our borders, it makes it easier for them to illegally sneak back here.

I just wish they would use the same energy they use to come here, and stay in their own Countries and use that energy to better their own Country. Just because their country is corrupted with sh*t, what gives them the right to come here and sh*t in our backyards, and leave their mess for us to clean up?
Many illegal immigrants from central american when they are picked up by the INS will say they are from Mexico because if they are deported to Mexico it is easier for them to sneak back across the border.
I understand that sometimes OTM's (Other than Mexicans) claim to be from Mexico so it will be easier to illegally return, yet again.

Other than that I haven't heard of such a thing. However, I wouldn't be surprised if sometime somewhere something happened. If it is common I haven't heard of it, though.
It has happened in the past. There was a famous case of a Canadian who was also a Syrian dual national. Right after 9/11 he was visiting the US and they deported him to Syria instead of Canada. He was beaten and tortured. This caused a minor international dispute between the U.S. and Canada.
It is close to impossible, because before an alien is deported from the U.S. the Immigration Service bears a burden of proving that he (she) is actually deportable. Among other things they must prove is that he is a citizen of some particular country.

In case if an alien has no ID on him the Immigration Service still has to receive an agreement from the Government of the receiving country to receive the alien before they can send him out. If an alien is lying about his country of citizenship he will probably just sit in a local detention (like county jail) indefinitely, which is worse that being deported.
If you are already in the USA illegally... you are already in the wrong country!

Deportment to the wrong cuntry ... who cares! Mexico, Ireland, Iraq, Columbia, England, just GET THEM OUT!!!!
Sorry but is that our problem?

They aren't suppose to be here and if they get sent to Mexico it is at least out of the US. Where is your proof that this has happened?
If I were the head of the INS, and you were illegal, I would just deport you "accidentally" off a ledge into a bottomless pit. Now that's comprehensive immigration reform.
