I've never met someone from Japan with a legitimate tourist visa that had any problem. We don't have a ton of illegal immigrants from Japan, or anything.
If she has nothing to hide she shouldn't worry.
Coming from Japan she'll have no problems.
At worst it could be very time consuming and inconvenient, but she has nothing to fear.
If you don't hide anything, why be afraid?
Some people are blind to see this, but its out there... racial profiling and rascism is still out there. My self being Hispanisc has seen and gone through is single k8ind of rascism out there. Now with the war and the scare in Korea, the airport secruity is on high alert. I was checked over 6 times flying from Palm Beach Intl Airport.
As long as she has all needed documents for entering the U.S. by a Japanese citizen, she should have no problem.

Probably not. The TSA could do a random search but it isn't that bad. It may take a few extra minutes.
