I know of a person that is an illegal Immigrant. They have been charged with using false papers working in this country for 6 years. He is married with children and works and pays taxes.About 3 years ago he was arrested and spent time in jail and finally got out of jail he goes to court trying to prove he has been working and supporting his family here and law abiding citizen. He works hard and is a good man.He is fighting to keep from going back to mexico and is paying incredible amounts to lawyers that cannot or will not help him.He paid 20000 dollars 6 years ago for false papers so that he could enter this country .This was his only crime. He has worked hard and married an American citizen years ago and it does not help.My question is that he was the one that got into trouble yet the man that hired him knew his papers were not correct when he hired him,yet he did not get into trouble.Shouldnt the person that hired him face charges too?
Answer:
Yes, but the only penalty for this is a fine.
Does he pay enough local taxes to cover the $7,000 to 10,000 per year it costs to educate each of his children as well as for other services his family may use? We have reasons for limiting immigration of poor people, since we have to pay for their services out of funds and using facilities designed for our own people. As to the employer, yes, if the employer knew he were illegal, he should get into trouble too. However, the employer abetted the crime of the illegal immigrants unauthorized use of our services and funds. The illegal immigrant and his family actually created the expense. I view it as very similar to embezzlement.
