Putting a reliable number on this is hard because the polling data is confused. Many people tell polsters they favor the immigration "reform" bill, but say they are opposed to amnesty for illegals. Is that because they believe that what the bill offers is not amnesty, or is it because they don't realize what the provisions of the bill really are. In the second case, would they oppose the bill once they found out what the bill really said?
Seventy to eighty percent say they don't want amnesty for illegals. As to what constitutes amnesty in their minds, you'll have to figure that out.

I don't believe people should be rewarded for doing something wrong. No one should be rewarded with citizenship for entering the country illegally. There has to be a better way.

I've heard 11% to 20% are pro-amnesty in various polls. These polls are un-biased. Rassmussen is know for it's accurate, unbiased polls.
Hey, "Petey" you are referring to biased polls like LA Times. That is so biased that it is sickening! The Time basically asked people if they wanted their gardener deported. They personalized it so that most people wouldn't have the heart to say that they didn't want people they knew to remain here. (Remember, the LA Times also had a poll that stated that Grey Davis would not be recalled. They are always wrong.)
That means that the Washington weasels are going against 80% to 89% of Americans. They are giving us the middle finger!

I can only speak for myself. I am not in favor of illegal crossing, however I am in favor and highly respect those people risking their lives to support their families, also I am totally against discrimination/profiling of minorities. Everybody deserves to be treated humanly.
How may people have you met that are for amnesty. I only see them on TV or in a group waving green flags not may on this site are for amnesty .Except the one that ask questions
