Should we enforce that every body learn 7th grade algebra/math?
Answer:
We already try to enforce that everybody learn 7th grade math. We call it junior high school, something many of the illegals coming here haven't been to.
To repeat, as with most countries in the world, if you can't learn the language you won't be awarded citizenship status.
that's what I was going to say. Some people do not have the capacity to grasp algebra.
Not everybody is smart enough to learn at a 7th grade level, not even all Americans.

For what? Language we use every day to communicate, and algebra we do not. And I am one of those who did not get it. Does that make me a criminal? There are those who are unable to learn algebra, and you have to take math lab and still do not pass. So shoot me. Instead I took 3 years of accounting and business math. And guess what, I have my own business without having to know algebra.

Numbers I understand. Letters of the alphabet I understand.
But putting together letters and numbers is blasphemy! I am convinced it's the work of the Devil!
People don't communicate with algebra, but, in the same respect with language, if you go to a place that uses mathematics to speak then i would think that learning algebra would be a necessity

LOL...what a reach! Not learning 7th grade algebra does not mean you will not prosper. Not knowing the language a nation speaks promises you will not prosper. You attempt at analogy is horrible. If one doesn't "get it" then one will get the chance to succeed.
I don't think 7th grade math is enough. US has very low expectations in math and science.

Learning Algebra opens up many financial opportunities to people who master it, same goes for English, if you refuse to learn it or ant smart enough to learn it you will be locked into a ghetto of your own making
