Do state governments have the right to rid their states of illegal aliens?
Answer:
I refer you to Maricopa County, Arizona where the Sheriff there is arresting and incarcerating illegals as a matter of course and law.
Yes it can be done.
immigration is a federal law issues...what states can do is deal with the issue of access to state/local subsidized programs..school, healthcare for example.
I think it's a ridiculous idea.
state govtcan do whatever it chooses as long as it does not conflict with federal law
i think the states could do that but the states are lazy like the fed. government. i think the should be punished for breaking the law and deported.
I think that they should. illegal immigration is becoming a large problem in this country and i think that someone needs to solve it.
Oh yes. In fact the states have no real rights in dealing with illegals. I suppose a state could jail illegals. But it does not have the power give amnesty or issue visas.
Awhile back a governor or senator (I can't remember his name) was in Ohio. He was having them rounded up if they could not provide documentation.
I'm sure they can but of course they wont. illegals contribute millions of dollars a year to this country, and cheap labor. if the us government really thought illegal immigration was a problem I'm sure in 6 months tops all would be deported. but of course thats a lot of millions...
jeeeeze what a problem..
also i don't get why we're called illegal "aliens"
can someone fill me in?
no they dont have the right. the only agency that has the right to detain and deport illegal aliens is the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Someone has to do it, if the feds dont and the state dont, I guess the American people will have to!
YES. But illegal immigration is deeper than that. is also a big opportunity for people to vent their racial resentment.
