If you have a British Passport you do not need a Visa Shengen. You can live and move in all European Country without a Visa. If you want to live in France you are free to do it and you don't need a visa. The only thing you need when you move to another EU country is a permit to stay. ciao mike

It was years ago needed by eastern europeans to enter western europe. I think it is no long exist since europe expanded & made eastern europe(Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary,Romania,..etc) part of the EU.
