What is process to claim and undocumented immigrant on my taxes?
My wife is and undocumented immigrant and we have been married for 5 years. Is there a way that i can finaly claim her on my taxes? I heard of some kind of tax id number like they give to business but need more details. If any one help it would be appreciated.

You need to get her an ITIN. The purpose of this number is to allow non-resident aliens the ability to pay taxes on US investments. However, the IRS is allowing illegal aliens to use an ITIN in order to file taxes on income earned while illegally living and illegally working in the United States.
IRS regulations determine resident alien status based on "substantial presence" in the United States, not legal residence. Thus, illegal aliens who file tax returns are treated in the same way as legal foreign residents and receive the same tax benefits, such as spousal exemptions, child and education tax credits. The one exception seems to be the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is available to legal permanent residents but which the IRS decided would not be available to illegal aliens.

doesn't she become a citizen after marriage to you? Why would you not be able to claim your wife? something does not add up here.
I think it all depends on which Country your wife is an undocumented illegal immigrant in, Every Country has different laws.
However in any Country, wherever it may be, illegal immigrants pay no taxes and rob the government of millions in currency.
There is an option I believe in the USA called a TIN (tax indentifying number) which is probably what you are talking about, this is available to persons from another country who do business in the US and who do not have a US SS number, however it is aimed at buisnesses and foreign trade, not illegal immigrants.
I mean, how can you possibly claim taxes back on someone who has never paid any?

The application for ITIN simply gets attached to your tax return. You have to file a paper return to make it work right.
How about getting her the proper documentation. It's a novel approach I know.
