Is the immigration bill 'Bush's fractured fairy tale'?
Answer:
It's not just his fairy tale, it's also the Senate's fairy tale.
But what our officials need to realize is that we, the American people, are not children who believe every bedtime story we're read.
I've spent some time visiting the websites of the Senators who voted for the bill on June 7. A very large majority of them do not address immigration in their list of priority issues. Now, I wonder if it because they are not as concerned with it as we are, or if they simply chose not to post their views hoping Americans would not monitor their voting records.
Of the ones who do address immigration on their websites,
much of it is lacking in specific detail.
Clinton: I believe the Bush administration is failing to meet what should be the basic requirements of immigration policy: continuing our American tradition of welcoming immigrants who follow the rules and are trying to build a better life for their families, while strengthening national security in a post 9-11 world.
Does she need reminded of the difference between legal immigrants and illegal aliens? Later, she even states that undocumented respect our laws. Perhaps, she's been read too many fairy tales. Senator Durbin also mentions how they respect our laws at his site.
Kennedy rambles on about the good of immigrants. I agree with him, only regarding the LEGAL immigrants. Illegal aliens are not our victims as he implies. They are lawbreakers.
Blanche Lincoln's post of views does not reflect her voting record.
Nelson, Murray, Obama, Salazar also from their posts seem to be part of the fairy tale. But no realistic data on the impact this will have on current Americans.
I think it's time they stop writing and telling their little fairy tales, and start reading the millions of letters being sent by the citizens of the United States.
the democrats are pushing hard this bill.
i'm against it.
No. It's just an unspeakably horrible compromise bill between the opposing factions in the debate.
I'm against it completely and without reservation.
Bush has lost it, he is so out of touch with the American People. Someone needs to rope this cowpoke before he gives America away.
Bush's fairy tale for amnesty is our nightmare of open borders
