What is an illegal immigrant?
why would the us goverment pick on parents who have been trying to get citizenship for 20 years and deport them once their child gets out of high school this year? I have a gross understanding of what being ILLEGAL means !

An Illegal alien is someone who came into the country undocumented...without permission so to speak...there are those too who have over-stayed their visa's who are also considered an Illegal alien...in other words they broke their promise to leave after their alloted time here ran out...
People who do not check in before they enter the country
It is a person that knowingly breaks the law. Then when they are caught breaking the law they say that they deserve amnesty.
If I kill someone and I am sentenced to life in prison and then I say that I shouldn't be punished,its the same thing.

Illegal immigrant is an oxymoron! A legal immigrant is a person from another country who enters a country LEGALLY with the intent of becoming a citizen of the new country. They wish to assimilate, learn the language and history and defend if necessay their new country.
Illegal alien is a person who sneeks in or otherwise enters a country illegally (without going through proper channels).

Illegal: One who breaks the law. In this case they broke immigration law by illegally entering the United States. Many illegals have babies to try and stay in the US. Once they attain legal age the parents can be deported. The offspring can stay or go with the parents back to mexico.
We all make choices in life. When you break the law it eventually catches up to you. This is what is happening here.

Mostly, it happens by either crossing the border without complying with other country's law Or coming in legally and then overstaying your authorized stay. Say, one comes on visitor visa and is granted 6-month stay, but does not leave after 6 months. It is also called being out of status. Law has specific strict rules about out of status visitors or other types of what-is-known-as-non-immigrant...
Illegal means that you knowing have broken the laws of the country, to commit fraud, Steal someone IDS & SS# to fraud an employer to get work. Lie cheat & steal to keep your idenity for others.Over the years false doc to get your child in school, Every thing they do is a lie,I guess you would understand better if your ID &SS# was stolen an used to get credit cards, your bank account money removed,your credit report is trashed by somone using your name an ID to by a car then not pay for it. and there after you because it was your SS# they used. Mine was so i know.Maybe the cute little smiling person your talking about is one of these people?
Illegal immigrant? I guess that depends on who you ask. I'm sure if you asked the Native Americans (the descendants of the few who survived) they would tell you that would be the Pilgrims.
To me, if our declaration of independence is indeed correct and "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" then I would have to wonder who do we think we are slapping labels of "legal" or "illegal" on anyone at all?
