If i ask who was for the war against Iraq 4 years ago, the right answer should be 87% of all Americans ?

4 years ago, all the polls showed 87% of Americans were 4 the war. All the news media were hyping us 4 it, showing us pics of Sadam & his abuse. Hyping up even politicians who were against it calling them whusses. Comedians were making constant jokes about the Europeans who were against. U could get beat up, if u say ur against it in America.
Now, why EVERYONE (news media, Americans, Comedians, etc) acting as if they were against it and shame on Bush & Bush alone. I think even Bush would have been hanged by the media & most Americans, if he had decided not to go to war.
EVERYONE was triger happy & wanted to be a cowboy.
Have a back bone , admit & stop blaming it all on Bush! Blame your cowboy mentality learned from Hollywood movie & that got you into many dumb wars(Vietnam,Corea,Iraq & soon Iran).

Answer:
THANK YOU

ive been saying this for years
thats just proved the saying that nothing is permanent in this life of ours.
did not
Not true, only 75% supported the Iraq war four years ago.
Not even the military "individually" speaking nowhere near 87% were for the fiasco.
I can honestly say that I was part of the 13%.
whoa. maybe some were taken in by his speeches and his rush to go into iraq, if you remrmber, but while we were in afganistan looking for obama, i read an article in time magazine that said, paul wolfowitz went to bush and told him Lyourproblem is not in afganistan, it is in iraq.:. not an exact quote, but close. .anyhow, you are misguided somewhere when you blame everybody. shame on you.
You are 100% correct! After 9/11 everyone (alright for you Dave w/ your only 75%) everyone except 25% of Americans were gung ho - they wanted revenge - they wanted this war. I sincerely believe over half of Americans are ADD, they are bored with this war - didn't think it would take this long. Then the media gets involved & only prints half truths & never the good parts (like building schools & passing out school supplies). Americans need to wake-up, look what happened after we left Iraq the 1st time, before the job was finished - 9/11!
They wanted it before then changed there mines?? when it got tuff. Dem = Libs 2 the rescue?or is it defeat.? Your call.....
Finally, someone with a little intelligence. I have been thinking that for some time now. Funny, I wonder how many people who were for the war when it started wouldn't admit it now? I admit I was for it then and I see no nobility in abandoning the Iraqi people now. So many are still so stuck on the fact that no WMD were found they continually use this as the reason to pull out, but our priorities have now changed. We went into this war, we ripped the countries leader out from under it (yes I think it was necessary) and we bombed the country into ruins, now everyone wants to pack it up and abandon it? I don't know what the American people were thinking when we went into this war, but it seems like they thought that in a year or two we would be victorious. I can't think of any war that we were involved in that has not lasted years. War is never quick and it is never without many casualties. It is time to stop being a bunch of whiny wusses and finish what we started.
It doesn't quite work that way. In the US, in times of percieved foreign peril, our country always 'rallies around the flag'. What I was saying 4 years ago is 'between them and our President and government, I have to trust that our President knows information I don't have, and knows what he is doing.'

It was trust in the president, not an actual desire for war.

I've lost a lot of that trust on a lot of fronts in the last 4 years, however, I still will say that Saddam sure wanted us to BELIEVE he had WMD, and there is no doubt that he was paying $25,000 to family of suicide bombers to encourage them, so it may have been the right decision to topple him, given also how bad he had been to his own people. (Meaning there was some reasonable basis to think a huge number of his people would be overjoyed to have him gone and pick up life without him.)

NOW in hindsight, we didn't have the post-war situation accurately guaged, and we can't stay to referree a civil war. We did what we came to do, and we stayed to give them an opportunity to vote in their own government and get it going. Enough is enough, and it may well be that if we leave violence will go DOWN after a time.

It's time to bring our guys home with a parade.
But is was Bush and his Administration who falsely led us into war with a bunch of lies. He and his people are responsible for that. We were very emotional at the time as we had experienced the Towers Incident. Bush, and his lust for oil, used our emotions to drag us into war. But that's how it has always been done. WWII and the bombing of Pearl Harbor was the same thing. The President knew what was coming and let it happen because then he could get the American people all psyched up to go to war. You have to realize you can't make people go to war because you want to be king of the mountain or gain more resources. You have to make the Americans think the other people are evil and out to get you.
I sure wasn't part of that 87 percent-I am against wars. I knew as soon as Bush was in office he would start one somewhere. If these people werent allowed in this country then 9/11 would of never happened in the first place.
87% is too high. It was more like 70%, with half of those saying that they were against unilateral action by the US.

For the record, I was one of the 30% who was against it from the beginning.
You really have a one-dimensional perception of us because your experience with Americans is probably one-dimensional, learned from Hollywood movies. You may get your political opinions from movies, but we do not. People who were for the war were decieved, period. Bush would not have been hanged because he was the person who was giving the decpetive message. People now realize they were decieved and that the war is costing more than what it was worth. We are nation madeof human beings who are allowed to change our minds. Contrary to the belief of many ignorant educated Latin Americans, we are not a monolithic entity that is always looking for a country to bomb. If that were true, you would find a majority of people wanting to go to war with North Korea, Venezuela and Iran. You do not, so your theory is incorrect.
