A DRUG gang has threatened to kill foreign journalists who report on the violence between rival cartels and security forces along the US-Mexico border, media and US officials have said.
Mexico's cocaine smuggling Gulf Cartel has allegedly planned to hire gunmen to kill foreign journalists working in the crime-torn Mexican city of Nuevo Laredo, on the border with Texas.
In response, two Texas-based newspapers have pulled their reporters from the city.
The US government condemned the threats and said it would try to protect US journalists working in Mexico.
"We will work with authorities in the United States and in Mexico to do everything possible to guarantee the safety of U.S. journalists who work on each side of our common border," said Tony Garza, the US ambassador in Mexico.
Mexico's foreign correspondents' association said it had information that any foreign journalists working in the area could be at risk.

bleeding hearts and illegal immigrant activists jump on me, please remember that they are criminals, and deserve no
protection by OUR laws, as they are not citizens of this nation.
They are actually an invading enemy force, bent on the destruction of this country from within. Just watch one of their rallies, where they insist on their rights. Why do people think they should have any rights ? I don't think I would have any as an illegal immigrant in their countries.

That is one of many great reasons for building a wall along the border...we should also invest in a mine field as well as guard towers with 50 calliber machine guns.HOOOOORRRRRAAAAAAA!!...
A wall isn't gonna stop anything. See how well it worked in East/West Germany? It worked so well it was torn down.
Enforce the laws.
The money is there to build the fence it will help in all areas of protection. As far as the media journalists haven't heard any reports from anyone of them on anything.There not newsworthier on information that helps us.
Berlin wall kept the good guys out. USA wall would keep the drug cartels out and ALL the bad guys as well!
USA has a right to protect itself against foreign aggression and invasion. But all our Guard troops are caught in the crosshairs of a waste-of-time war in Iraq so they can't protect USA.

People are foolish if they really believe that;
1.-A fence will be built along the southern border. This whole wall/fence business is touted by the politicians to keep the rabble from raising he11, to make you believe that "illegal immigrants" are the cause of all our troubles, to divert your attention from the serious problems in our country and to take attention away from their own misconduct in office. They give you this little stretch of wall to make you believe they are doing something..in fact, they don't give a dam about stopping Mexicans or South Americans from coming here to work..Business depends upon the cheap labor force - always have - always will...and the government knows it. Mexicans have been hopping the border for almost 100 years. Why do you think nothing has ever been done except periodic amnesty? Use your heads!
2.-They think we can fence ourselves off from the world..Our border with Mexico is 1,950 miles long.They are NOT going to run a fence for almost 2000 miles. The border areas are used by all sorts of people for purposes other than entering the U.S. Ranchers, farmers and others - on both side of the border, use it for farming, grazing cattle, industry. A wall/fence would not stop anyone, anyway... People determined to come through would merely tunnel (that's been done before) or blown the dam thing to smithereens.
It is impossible to build a fence around our country.our northern border is 5,522 miles long - the longest in the world. We have almost 13,000 miles of coastline, most of it is remote and unguarded.
Alaska and Hawaii present further problems, don't they?
Please think before speaking.we have real problems in our country. We have a President and an administration that is threatening our way of life in America. They are ignoring the laws, the Constitution, the will of the people..They are destroying our Justice System. They are bankrupting our country with an illegal war-for-oil.. They are allowing our young people to be slaughtered in Iraq and they won't stop until somebody makes them stop.Guess who that "somebody" is??
As long as the government can give us someone to hate, as long as they can keep us fighting amongst ourselves, they can continue their dirty tricks and corruption while lining their pockets with the wealth and spirit of our nation.
Before you know it, they will be gone - and our country will be in tatters, our economy broken, our relationships in the world destroyed. We will look at each other and realize that while we were so busy hating Mexicans, hating each other. The ship of state has been hijacked...and we will be left vulnerable to those in the world that wish is ill.
Well, the republicans were in charge the last 6 years of every branch of government from the senate, to the house, and the president and they did NOTHING absolutely NOTHING to stop or slow down illegals coming into this country. Now that they are here, it's stupid to think the day will come when someone will just round them up and take them back. All those who voted the repubs into office the past few years now have to lay in the bed they made when it comes to illegals
