What careers will allow me to immigrate to the United States?

I know you need to be a skilled worker, but can someone give me a full list of skills that are in demand right now that would allow someone to get a green card to live and work in the United States?

Answer:
Yes, it's a good idea to find a job in an in-demand field like those already mentioned: Computer Science, Engineering (software, mechanical, plastics), doctor etc.

The reason you need an in-demand job is employers need to advertise for US workers first and then attest there are no US workers available for the job.

But keep in mind, you should also be looking for a job that requires 5 yrs experience or an advanced degree. That's because the employment-based category for those with little experience and/or only a BA is backlogged (meaning no visas available for several years).

You should consider an H-1B worker visa next year when the visas become available. This is a nice jumping off point to start the permanent residency process (which can be done then while you are already here).
Good luck
Be a scientist.
This is a classic.

Doctors who are specialized in certain areas, nurse, scientists and may be engineers.
what u like bro? what you good at? then try to get a job in the particular field. or just come in and wait for another amnesty.
I need someone to mow my lawn.oh and clean my house.
Right now scientists, engineers and Med students are in high demand. Not many students in the US are studying these three fields so it leaves a big void that needs to be filled.
It depends on what you're good at, what you like, and what part of the states that you live. For example, if you're good at a certain trade (ie, construction, carpentry, that sort of thing) you'd be best off in a fast developing area. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Arizona are probably the fastest growing areas (that I can think of).

Someone did mention a scientist--- scientists from other countries that are either doing research or working as doctors or pharmacists do pretty well here too. I know a research scientist who is extremely talented and educated and the university that he works for LOVES him. His job is secure because he's willing to work for a lot less than what Americans at his educational level would work.

Good luck whatever you do!
Teachers especially in NY
well if your Mexican all you need is legs to run across the border and the us politician will welcome you with open arms.
Anny skilled medical personal, any engineering persons, or anyone with a ma or above in hard science, will have no problem getting in.
