Immigation (illegals) what do you think?

I am Hispanic born and raised in California my father was born in Texas but his parents were born in Mexico, they both became citizens the right way and had my dad in Texas. My mom was born in Mexico but my grandfather and grandmother became citizens also the correct way and my mom and her siblings all became naturalized citizens. My question is what do you feel about Bush wanting to give (papers) to so many (illegals)? I personally disagree and here is my point. They are showing absolutely no respect for the laws now just by being here illegally so why reward them by giving them all rights? If my grandparents could come to United States attain work visas and do everything the correct way to become citizens why can't others do the same? Reward those that come over here the correct way not those that come over breaking laws. I understand that not all (illegals, not just Mexicans all illegals) are bad and come here to work but why not do it the correct way? Who agrees/disagrees and why?

Answer:
Very good question... I agree, you have made very strong opinions that I am sure many are going to agree with or hate you for but I completely agree with all that you said. I feel that the laws should be respected and a strong message needs to be sent to all Illegals you will not come to United States break laws and be rewarded, and the Government is the one that needs to send that message. I am mad that the law is only important if it benefits them, but laws they hate, they are free to violate. Illegals are here without permission, nobody knows who they really are, If they commit a crime they're like ghosts in the system and quick to run back to their native land to seek refuge and avoid jail time for any crimes committed. And don't get me started on the health care or welfare issue (out of control)!
brown pride
I agree, but the problem is so out of control that there is no easy remedy. The United States allowed itself to get to this point by continously ignoring the problem, and now there isn't any easy solution.
The answer to your quesetion is rather simple . The sheer political logic of ballots is what is prompting Mr. Bush to take such an action. And as to whether it is right or wrong the answer is rather subjective - i it not !!
I agree. I don't think it is fair to accommodate people who broke the law. They should go back and apply for green cards or whatever they have to do in a legal manner. I understand that some of them come over in order to make money for their families back home, but at least go about it legally. I was also not born in the United States, rather I came here and became a citizen the right way.
Pleases don't forget..It is the democrat power structure that wanted the bill passed! Bush was the scapegoat!..I will never understand his reasoning, but the liberals for their own greedy reasons were really the force behind the movement! do you think that Ted Kennedy has ever done anything for the good of the country?
The only people who should be complaining are the American Indians as to who is in the United States now. Hispanic is a made up word since the 1970's by the U.S. Govt. grouping ALL Latinos together, thus losing our individual indentity and country of origin. Hispanic literally means "from Spain". Latinos is a better usage. The correct term is "undocumented" and not "illegals" or even "aliens"
It seems like once people are legal in the U.S., they then want to close the doors and forget where they came from. I challenge the fact that you do not have ANY family members who arrived in the U.S. with FULL documentation since day one. Many countries are corrupt, and less fortunate. If you, your family, and loved ones were below poverty, in great danger, hungry, and in need of a better life, wouldn't you "jump a fence" too?? It is called human survival. Corporate America and consumers want and need the undocumented here, because they would also be complaining if they were paying more in restaurants, grocery stores, baby sitting, house cleaning, landscaping, washing their cars, etc. I do not have any problem with the true hard working people who come from ALL countries for simply a better life. It is just a fact, that people will strive for a better life no matter what. I know it is a very complex problem.
Undocumented people are not just from Mexico. FYI people.
Bini B, this site has nothing to do with looks. It seems you think this is eharmony. Ask Sexican out already. To state"serious issues" you have no points as to what they are.
Sexican, you stated "showing no respect for the laws here."
Do you ever drive above 65mph?? Human nature will break laws to meet their needs. It goes back to my point of survival.
I do see your point though and see in your heart where you are coming from, but the problem is very complex.
You DO NOT deserve racist remarks and I agree with that.
Simply pray for them. Some people are just way in the dark. They do not know any better. To clarify, I am a proud Mexican/American, and my family too, has contributed to this great country. I understand where you are coming from with your points. This is basically a system that needs MAJOR reform.

Mr. Bini B, a real man will defend ALL women with no motive. Eharmony?? but what do I know, I have serious issues. Ms. Britney, your answer shines light on your ignorance. It is unfortunate, but you exemplify that racisim is alive and continues. May you change in time.

Bini, the glamour shots pictuture you posted is a little feminine, and the hand next to the cheek tops it off!
I do not use the term "Gay" because even though I am not, and love God's gift to this world, WOMEN, I have respect for the Gay community. I'm not the lonely one, your first response was basically simply hitting on Sexican. I did not need to enlarge Sexicans picture cause about the only thing you and I will agree on is that both ladies are HOT. I threw out the dating site, because you seemed lost. Just trying to help. Seems like you and I will continue to go back and forth with the words, so I will be the Bigger Man and call it quits with these last WORDS. PS, I have NO problem and keep quite busy in the dating scene with lovely ladies. But what do I know, I have serious issues. I caution you with who you trash talk to, because you never know who may smack that hand away from yo chin. just kidding bro, all in fun. I did not take anything you said serious.
I agree Sexy you have made some damn good points. The Mexican government has failed them before by selling {their land} to U.S.A. and continues to fail them, so they feel they are owed something from this government and are here collecting. The only ones to blame for that is our government that is now failing us, first off by allowing it to start and now by letting it continue.
Kissing up I see, but you're still not going to be white no matter how hard you try .Disagree because why should only U and your family be allowed to slam the door shut on other people of your culture!

Latina pulling the race card on the bad white girl, not the least bit surprised after all only white people can be racist so I've been told.
Anyone that wants to immigrate to the USA should follow it's rule of law and at least as important, assimilate into it's culture. Nothing disgusted me more than seeing the protesters march in support of the illegals already here while waving a Mexican flag. That is not assimilating but just showing they are here for the wrong reasons.

It probably would not be the issue it is if the illegals would speak English and try to mesh with the American culture. But when you see these mini-cities of Hispanics (largely Mexicans) popping up within bigger cities, it's disturbing and must be stopped else the country we know will become something else.

In my view, the USA is under attack by Mexico. Mexico is trying to consume America from the inside out and doing a nice job so far. Unless our stupid (and I do mean stupid) politicians stop fighting amongst themselves and get on with running our country the way it should be run, we are doomed.
If you read some of the writing coming from Mexico and the illegals, you would see they are trying to populate American land because they still beleive it belongs to them.
i congratulate your family on becoming citizens. i just think it is unfair that this country for decades have lured undocumented workers and exploited them for their cheap labor while we americans turned a blind eye because we benefited from cheap food prices. now because of political reasons people suddenly want to uproot these families and send them back to their country. i just feel there is something immoral about that
I couldn't agree with you more. We have a legal process, it may not be an easy one but it is worth it for your children and in your case the grandchildren. Those who chose the legal path get very little attention in this forum but you do have the respect of the American people.

Don45123.... people have been fighting illegal immigration for years what do you think all the other reforms are or all the changes to the immigration laws? the taxpayers have FINALLY had enough.. When the latest reform bill started its process you finally saw all those years of anger and frustration spill out, its not new. its just very loud and angry now...
I couldn't agree more with you. There's always a right way and a wrong way to do things and the right road should always be the one taken! What really frosts me is that we, US citizens, have Spanish signs everywhere to accommodate THEM! Float us a break...
I'm not an illegal but I commend you for understanding the burden the illegals are causing in our nation. I have nothing against Hispanics and never have. It's the illegals who are ruiniing our nation and sponging off of us all. Our educational system is going down, wages are going down and we will be bankrupt trying to take care of all of the criminals if they aren't deported. Criminals we have enough of without more sneaking in everyday!
I disagree with you ladies, I think you have become what our educational system has been trying to do ,turn out a nation of monolingual little brown Anglos Many of us have an University education, and I found out that being bilingual has been an asset in my life. I find that most of the comments in the immigration question are expressed as more of an racial issue, Anglos are afraid of the browning of America. They claim Mexicans are criminals and turn a blind eye to Anglo crime. School children killing others in the school for no logical reasons, Sure Mexicans blew up the Federal building in Oklahoma, and the multitude of serial killers in this country are mostly Anglos. The many criminals among you that break the law and use illegal drugs, if there was not such a demand for illegal drugs in this country. There would not a profit motive to sell them here, now you try to blame the short comings in America on others. It your way to project your crimes on other people, by many of your answers it is evident that a lot of you have been smoking loco weed.
When your grandparents came here the "legal" way the laws were less stringent for those that were closest to us post war. You filled out a card, showed proof of local residency for your current country, got references from three legally trusted officials including your local clergy, got a physical and paid about $40 and you were allowed to come to the US. There was not a lot of red tape before. My grandfather was from Norway and that is all he had to do and pay for his own passage. I still have the documents in my mothers cedar chest.
I you were from a country that was someway involved and WW1 OR 2 you were not even considered unless you were on a refugee list set up by US military which were given extreme background checks and if someone knew you and just out of spite said something bad about you, your admission to the US was denied even if your family history showed one person was involved in the war against US.
Now, in many countries, we have our own US officials presiding over the Embassies and many of them are working the system to their advantage. Taking bribes and favors for visas and many good honest people can't afford to pay. The new fees implemented July 1st are now double and there are more forms and red tape than ever before. Your grandparents were very lucky to come when they did because if they tried now they wouldn't be able to afford it or would have died waiting in line thus your family would not be here at all. Every body says "Why don't they just stay in their own country and fix their own problems" but how do you do that when you have your military working as your polic force and your police force are little wannabe military extortionists. How do you change your situation when your income is less than $20 a day? Have you ever been to your native country in the small pueblos or ciudades and seen how it is done? Have you gone to one of the Embassies and just sat around watching hundreds a day to it the "legal" way? Have you asked any of them how long they have been waiting to do so? Blend in and go see for yourself, I have and it is really sad to see how our government will bring over 75,000 refugees and put them in major cities from the middle east knowing they could be potential terrorists and we are worried about Latinos in Mexico. I am not saying that we should give amnesty but we should try to improve the current way we do require immigrants to come here legally and make our representatives of our Embassies accountable for alot of the current problems we have for immigrants to be considered.
Find we one honest politician or government official and I will show you the flying pig in my backyard.
