What do you think about illegal immigration in the U.S?

I think that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay in America, and shouldn't be granted amnesty for one main reason:
If millions of people have worked hard for years trying to gain citizenship to America THE RIGHT WAY, why should someone - who has BROKEN THE LAW - be given that citizenship and have those same rights??? It may be long and hard, but it is possible to become a law-abiding citizen of America.
However, I do believe that the process to become a full citizen should be made simpler, and that the law enforcement on illegal immigrants should be tougher. Then immigrants who really need to come here to the US should be able to do that much easier, and won't be as tempted to come here illegally.

The numbers are increasing dramatically minute by minute.
You cross the borders illegally...you're a criminal.
Simply? It shouldnt be taking place.
They need to be kept out.If they enter legally great.If not then stay where you are.
I think it should be illegal
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with
seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds
started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and
next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio
tile, the chairs, the table...everywhere. Then some of the birds
turned mean: They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I
had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous
and loud:
They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of
the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took
down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up
their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the
patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet, serene and no
one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now lets see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a
automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands.
Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families: you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an
emergency room doctor: your child's 2nd grade class is behind other
schools because over half the class doesn't speak English: Corn Flakes
now come in a bilingual box; I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk
to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are
squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free
liberties.
Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

This is what I think about "illegal" immigration...
No amnesty... No reform... Deport all illegal aliens & enforce our current immigration laws!!!

Okay, I think that people emigrate to America because obviously they can't make a good living and support their families. Other countries aren't as fortunate as we are, I know because my husband is from Central America. There are no food stamps or medicaid. There is no walking into a hospital E.R. and getting treated without making full payment up front. Simply put, their government does't care about their people like ours does. We Americas sit around and piss and moan about what we don't have, when in fact, we are envied by many. I do believe that immigrants should have to check in with immigration when they enter the country. And I don't think illegals should be able to use our welfare system. It is a huge burden when illegals come here and start popping out babies. I just think there should be a limit on how long they can stay unless they intend on becoming a citizen.
What about it, it has been going on for decades, and I bet even in the T-Rex days,,,,,and they were selling T-Rex burritos,,,,
I think they should come in legally but if you ask all the farmers that have produce sitting in the fields rotting right now because no one here wants the job of picking it and so the prices for our food is going to go up may have a different opinion.
We should stop allowing it. Deport all illegals. If it turns out we really do need them, let some in then.
But stupid INS can't keep track of foreigners. We need to fingerprint and take DNA samples of every guest worker (with major controls to prevent fraud--I am not interested in imprisoning an innocent person, foreign or not).
Hey, in 1850, the South said they couldn't get along w/o their slave labor. In 1950, a lot of white people had Black domestics which they can't afford now. Well, our houses may be dirtier now, but we adjusted. The cleaner houses are not worth the damage done to so many people.
So they say we can't afford to do without illegal labor? I say try it for awhile. My son, 16 and strong, can't get a job because everyone is afraid of hiring a minor. Maybe he should darken his skin and speak with an accent!
If we have 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in the country right now, then someone tell me:
1.) why vegetables are rotting in the fields and,
2.) If they're not working in the fields, what exactly are they doing and where are they working?

My compliments to David P, for that simple yet amazing analogy. If you want to be a citizen, do it the right way. And for the 50th time...learn the language. Why is it that millions of Euro foreigners came here with no complaints and worked hard learned english and did not demand a penny, yet these illegals are coming here demanding welfare, healthcare, jobs, and worst of all demanding that this should be a spanish speaking country. Sadly enough there are born citizens that are being denied healthcare so that the illegals can have it. We owe you nothing, and if you dont like it GO HOME, and take your language with you. So many immigrants were treated badly...worse than you could imagine, yet you dont see them complaining. And they came here legally.
I think its terrible...Im ashamed to see fellow latinos coming into this country and make rediculous demands. I am latino and I speak english fluently. I know spanish and may speak it from time to time with family still living in Puerto Rico. Although I am proud of my heritage I am very proud to be an American and being an American is being part of a melting pot of all nationalities. How fair is it that there are people here that were born in this country that are being denied government assistance because our government is giving it to illegals. And I will be the first to admit that the majority of them are Latino. The european americans made this coutnry and sweat their asses off so that we could have it good, and who is around to acknowlege them? Than we have illegals coming in to enjoy it who have done nothing! Send the illegals home!
Plain and simple...send them home, they have to follow through with the same process every legal immigrant has had to for years. What makes them any different? They are bringing disease into our country with their unsanitary habits, not to mention taking full advantage of the welfare and healthcare system.
