Would you agree with grdnoviz Terrorists would not use IIlegal visas to come here?
Answer:
Well, I understand grdnoviz's point, since the 9/11 terrorists who were here illegally were overstayers, (although Atta came illegally via Canada). Still, we have picked up terrorist who came across the border illegally, and Homeland Security tried, and succeeded, to sneak across the makings for a dirty bomb, none of which is encouraging. (See testimony before the House this summer.)
Entirely without terrorists, 12 to 20 million poor illegal immigrants educated by our schools and served by our services is a huge impact on the ability of those services to serve our own people.
Let me explain something to you. The 9-11 terrorists were in the country with legal visas. In order to get a visa, you need to show that you have money and a legal purpose to be here, like attending a university, conducting business or going on a vacation. If you are a true terrorist, you have a network of support. That means you can legitimately apply for and be approved for a visa without fraud.
Say for example, you just joined Al Quaeda in Germany. You were born in Germany of Saudi parents, so you have a German passport. The terrorists put a bunch of money in your bank account and a house in your name. Then you apply to go to to XYZ university and your test scores and grades are high enough, so you are admitted. You can show immigration that you are going to study and you can show you have the money to pay the tuition. That is all you need to get a visa. You are not on a terrorist watch list because you just joined. There is no legal reason for immigration to deny your visa or arrest you once you are here.
What would be the point of getting fraudulent documents and risk getting caught and not only failing your terrorist mission, but risking the entire terrorist organization being discovered? The point is to stay under the radar until they can complete the terrorist act. Coming in illegally would make that more difficult, get it?
