Passport for canadian citizen with an american green card?

Answer:
Passports are issued to citizens of a country.

"Green Card" is another term for "permanent residency certificate". It allows the individual named on the card to work and live in the country that issued it for a certain period of time ... up to ten years from date of issue in the US.

To obtain a green card, the individual must be a citizen of a country other than the one issuing the card; this also means the individual must have a valid passport. If the passport expires, so does the green card - immediately (at midnight on the date the passport expires).

To renew your passport (assuming it is a Canadian one) you have the choice of going to the nearest Canadian consulate office or returning to Canada and applying there.
I have both:) and hold a canadian passport...as I will be going home next year to get a new one ...like I did 5 years ago:)
