Looks to me like the U.S. government is now in direct competition with coyotes.

Considering the poor job of border control they have been doing they probably do. They appear to be severely understaffed and when local law enforcement apprehends a felony who is an illegal or one who is carrying a green card if they call ICE (immigration and Customs Enforcement) they usually won't even show up to take them into custody. We are becoming a penal colony for other countries criminals.
if the figures are right and there are from 12 to 20 million illegals in this country they need to do something. The $1000 for a green card seems to be reasonable. If they get a job at minimum wage in this country they will make more than that in the first month.
Yeah, actually, I think they do. They are not allowed to use it for anything but processing immigration documents. I think some are being charged for the difficulties in documents of a few, but how would they structure it otherwise? People from countries of interest pay $20,000? People from countries without automated databases pay $10,000?
Then people would really scream discrimination.
I do agree that it is a steep jump, but the paperwork has been seriously delayed without it, and maybe this will help.
The goverment wants money for everything, even for the things that are free like water.
hey, the government is like an abusive boyfriend...pulls you in and tells you how good you are to them and how you do stuff that no one else have done for them...then once they get what they want from you, start treating you like crap...embarrasses you in public and calls you names, kicks you out on your ***...and now, tells you that he'll take you back, but under these conditions...make you feel like you did something wrong...
