Last time I checked, this is a free country. Which means we can debate about a certain issue for as long as we want.
why you spell soo much?
With so much nonsense floating around about "legal" and "illegal" status of human beings I think it's important to reflect upon other times in American history when the behavior of certain people was considered "illegal" - and how sickening it seems now.

Prior to 1863, it was illegal for a black person to consider himself or herself free. A human being of African descent in the United States who woke up, said "this slavery business sucks" and sought life as a free human being was an "illegal".

Prior to 1863, it was illegal for black parents to resist the selling of their own children. Mothers who did not want to see their toddlers sold to strangers who would abuse them were "illegals".

Prior to 1878, any woman in the United States who believed she was smart and capable enough to vote was breaking the law. A woman who voted before 1878 was an "illegal".

During World War II, if you were one of the 120,000 Japanese-Americans who were rounded up by your own government and forced to live in internment camps for no reason other than your appearance and ancestry, and you left the camp and insisted you were not Japanese but American, you were an "illegal".

If you were a Native American living east of the Mississippi river in the 1830s and you decided that the U.S. government had no right to forcibly remove you from the land where you and your ancestors had lived for 10,000 years or more, you were "illegal".

If you were a Native American in the western United States and you disagreed with U.S. Army directives to kill you and all people like you (as a matter of policy) you were "illegal". And then you were dead.

And now we find the nation in a media frenzy about "illegal" immigrants, with those who are most opposed to the notion focusing almost entirely on people who cross at the Mexican border on foot. (For the record, as many as half of "illegal" immigrant in the U.S. come by other means.)
i agree with you. I don't see how people can debate this issue. to me they are here illegally.. end of discussion.. but the wacko left and the big business right don't care about this. They just want to let them be here to be exploited and make a better life for themselfs. I say illegal is illegal. deport them all and keep the usa the usa not the usm (united states of mexico)
You are right, but the pro-illegals have to make up arguments and make us feel sorry for them to try to convince us that amnesty is the right thing. But of course it's not and we should not reward illegal behaviour by granting them amnesty!
We debate because there is a lot more to the issue and it is a way to get our message across and have a sense of unity with those who feel the same as us.
The truly terrible part of this is that it is actually necessary to debate this issue, because our elected officials are blind to the law. Illegals should be deported immediately. If the laws were enforced and the illegals deported, then the debate could be held only in Mexico..what can Mexico do to improve the conditions there without relying on US dollars and exporting their illegals to the US.
Until our elected officials wise up and address the needs of Americans first, this debate must continue.
The illegals should be eliminated from the debate as political protest of US policy/politics is a right reserved for citizens.
because WE Americans got nothing else to do. WE're bored, so we pick on something that's not even our business!

We only provide arguments but not much of a solution to the whole point. WE can't even get along very well! like miniature kids running around in circles! Don't know where or when it ends!
i agree i have no promblem with people from other countries coming over here as long as they do it legally
because we feel like it..if you dont like it than why are you on YA??
