I have a US Greencard, do I need a passport to fly from Canada to Mexico, with a flight connection through US?

Do I need a Canadian passport from my birthcountry or is my US GREENCARD/Permanent Residency Card good enough to Travel Between Canada and Mexico. I can't find a direct flight, so I will have a connection in a US airport.

Answer:
As of Jan 28th you will need a passport when ever you land in any airport in the USA. ANd right now it just for airports and not border crossings. Next year it will change and everyone coming to the USA thru sea, air or land will need a passport even citizens of the USA needs them too.
Carry your passport when ever you cross any borders. It is the best identification you have.
yes you do don't matter were are you going ....
You will need a passport,my husband just pass thru that
Bring your Canadian Passport; the Mexican government may require it so that they can stamp you a visa. You'll be able to enter the US just fine with your Canadian Passport as well.
Passport.
The Empire has spoken. Ottawa is complying. Shame. Shame. Take a direct fly and bypass the ogres.
When ever you fly outside your home country you should always have your passport and another ID with you. You will never know when you may need it.
I have the same thing here....I am from canada and live in the USA ...yes you need a passport alway now ..or you don't get back in here...have it on you at all times ...if you are driving they say no till 2008 but it is best you have it with you:))) have all your papers with you ...be safe then sorry.
probably would not be a bad idea to have both - check with the us state department and the mexican authorities. see below:
