How do you feeel about the 35000 green card troops fighting in Iraq?
Answer:
Fisherman isn't too quick on the uptake. I had to go find the stupid link, and I had never seen the article. You have to forgive him, he looks a bit old in the pic.

The story is about one kid, whose parents hired a coyote to get here.
The story does get interesting later.
There are now about 35,000 “green-card” service members across all of America’s military branches, almost a 50 percent increase from the 23,000 who were serving in 2000. According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, more than 32,500 of those have become citizens since the Bush administration announced expedited handling of citizenship requests for members of the armed services in 2002. Altogether, it’s estimated there are about 105,000 foreign-born soldiers, sailors, Marines, and members of the Coast Guard and Air Force serving this country — or about 5 percent of all service members —and many in the military are pushing to recruit more.
Having done the research, I think I, as one of those "spewing" people fisherman hates so much should get the points. LMAO.
I do think he went a bit far with the "having illegal children" as the children of the illegal immigrants are citizens. The children part was to get our sympathy.
I must say, they are only 5 % of the military, and their pay-off as we have seen in the article is citizenship.
Why not just support them instead of trying to knock them down. I think we should send ALL our illegals to go fight if they want to be here so badly.
Source?
Link please!
As long as we never bring them back to the USA I am all for it! Lets make Iraq an accompanied tour!
I think we should take all the lifers in prison and send them over there, if they survive they are free, if not it will take care of the over crowding.
And your point is what because they are over in Iraq, putting there lives on the line for this country and what are you doing for this country besides asking a question like this and yes I am a veteran and so is my son and my late father.
Ok! there family may be here illegally and since you and I do not know that quit speculating ok the fact that they are wearing a uniform for this country should be all that matters right now since we do not know who's family is here illegally now do we and right now who are we or matter of fact you since you asked this question to judge ok.
I suppose if you were to give them full citizenship after so many years of service it might work. For them and there wife and children that were still minors. Anyone else in their family can work to get their own citizenship.
And if you watched any of the new citizens being sworn in on the 4th of July you would have seen many that are in combat now that just became citizens. Their response...Now I'm fighting for my new country.
I feel that illegal is still illegal; and, on the greater subject of immigration, I don't see how we can just throw up the doors to anyone and everyone who wants to come here, regardless of which part of the world, without the result being complete chaos.
though i am completely against illegals, its good to see that some are making a sacrifice for america instead of the other way around
It's much better that they are in Iraq instead of them being still here stinking up our country. We should have sent their "family members who are illegal, mother wives fathers husbands and children" to Iraq with them. I'm sorry for being so cruel, even the Iraqi's don't deserve that.___By the way, I'm now accepting IM's, just in case you need more info. LMAO__________________________... LMAO
I don't believe you. Can you name your sources ?
They are legal and serving legally. Good for them. That's not a pass for others who are illegal. If one brother is a police officer, and the other a criminal, do we refrain from penalizing the criminal? No, we do not. If one sister is a good mother, and the other abuses her children, do we refrain from penalizing the abusive mother and rescuing her children? No, we do not.
One who abuses a law is not rewarded due to good efforts by relatives.
GREEN CARD TROOPS are here legally. DUH..
So your thinking is that excuses all the illegal activity by his relatives? So if his mother is a hooker you are OK with that?
So if his dad is a car jacker you are OK with that? So his relatives are in the USA illegally and you are OK with that?
What part of "ILLEGAL" do you not understand?
The same way I feel about all those poor people in Iraq, get them the hell out of there now!
Gee willikers mr. special pants I think it's just peachy keen. Unlike the 12,400,000 illegal invaders they at least found a method to achieve citizenship LEGALLY. I may despise the local illegal spicano who snuck under the border with his 45 relatives because they are too dumb to use birth control but, I will always respect the man who stands up for the country he seeks to join.
The answers of you American computer hero's always answer,a question with my forefathers fought for these rights.
but you have grown a generation of sissies. That will not get off of your butts to fight, for your country, such hypocrites, A writer gave you the story Marine Sgt Rafael Peralta ,who die smothering a grenade with his body, that saved the lives of 8 other Marines mostly Anglo. Your response only showed disrespect for his country, the uniform that he wore and his life in service to his country. Jobs that you computer hero will not do.
Your reaction to this American fighting man, was pure disrespect only because he was born in Mexico. I hope every able body (ed) Chicano/Chicana join the service to get basic training, in case you needs those skills in the future.
and you have the Gall to say, we are the bigots, huh Brucey.
I feel that they should return to their home countries and wait for the proper paperwork that they will get in due time. Wives and children of the servicemen probably already have them, parents need to wait their turn.
"The United States Military cannot and will not assist in the immigration process. In order to join the U.S. Military, one must LEGALLY immigrate first, and then apply to join the military, once they are living in the U.S. "
"The visa and/or "greencard" must have sufficient time remaining on it (expiration date) to be valid during the entire term on enlistment. While non-citizens may enlist in the U.S. Military, they are not allowed to reenlist (stay in beyond their first term of service), unless they first become U.S. Citizens."
