Can I make a citizen's arrest and arrest an illegal alien?
If I nabbed a child predator I would be praised by everyone(except Nambla.)
So why would it be any different if I made an arrest of an illegal alien. They have committed a felony already.
What if we all nabbed an illegal this week?
We could clean up this mess in no time.
My guess is that somehow I would be charged with a crime for violating rights that the alien does not even have.

You can do that and more in Arizona. Our Sheriff Joe arrests them and has encouraged the public to report those that are illegal.

edit: did bush not say police officers can pull anyone over for suspicion? this was after 9/11. why can't they do the same if they expect someone being illegal. they question possible terrorist, why can't they question a possible illegal?

If memory serves me, you have to have direct knowledge that a crime has been committed in order to make a citizen's arrest. You may have suspicion that somebody is an illegal alien, but that won't get you very far in court. Having grown up on the border, we used to spot the illegals and turn them into the Border Patrol or San Diego P.D.

no, someone wanted to do that in front of me to someone i know, and the police say no, we don't do that here, people here are free. that police man was cool.
You would be guilty. You cannot just walk up to a person and demand to see an identification proving who he is. That is a job for law enforcement, not private citizens and you would be violating several laws concerning privacy, assault and others.
So, without having proof that the person is indeed here illegally, there is nothing you can do.
Leave them alone, stop worrying about them. If the government doesn't give a rat, why should you. You cannot do anything about the current situation - only the government can...and they won't.
They haven't done anything for over 60 years except grant amnesty every 20 years or so..Government knows that their Best Friends - big business, corporate America, agribusinesses, farmers and other depend upon this cheap labor force and have for many years. The government is not about to overturn the applecart.
