From what I have read, he was a much better leader and had better strategies. Santa Anna was nothing but an arrogant pompous fool, if it wasn't for him, Texas would still be part of Mexico and Mexico would probably be better off as a whole.

Oh please if Mexico had Texas it would look like TJ and they would still be sneaking into the U.S. via other states. It would be just another state of Mexico with no future. They have had over 200 years to make their country viable and prosperous, and they have natural resources which they don't know how to use. Just look at Japan they have no natural resources and they are a booming economy. If it weren't for America Mexico would collapse. More land dose not mean prosperity, Texas would be a dead zone just like Mexico.

The Mexicans in Texas DID NOT want to be a part of Mexico, they wanted their independence and wanted to be a part of the US- They fought for what they wanted and won... Rewriting history is meaningless.. when someone wants something bad enough they will fight for it- Why would Mexico had been better off with Texas... When you have almost the entire population that does not want to be a part of that country...
