"We will vote them out of office."?
Even thought I am not hispanic, I have to wonder if you guys will really have any power left. From reading this article, the hispanic community is gaining more and more power. When the primary comes they will vote for all the politicians supporting the immigration reform. It seems like you have almost no influence whatsoever.
Answer:
Now your really feeding into the fears of these bigots..This is their greatest fears, but why do they fear it? Hispanics are just ordinary people, I am so glad there are people like you who look past skin color and realize we are all HUMAN beings.A star for you...!
Yes, we all gonna be called Juan and Maria, and we all will have to pray to the Santisima santisima ultra-virgen de la santa grace, and it will be mandatory to learn how to make tamales and house cleaning.
for starters if you are here illegaly then you can't vote so just hang on imigration will be there before long
EVERYBODY who comes over here should be Legal
Citizens.
This is not being racist though you can think so.
I have friends from Austria who came over and they
became Legal Citizens.
My hubby's parents came over from Europe after
World War II and became Legal Citizens.
They even learned the English language though I
know Hispanics who are Legal Citizens and do
not know English.
Thanks.
I agree let all of Mexico into America, I don't care I'm not a rich farmer with strawberries in the field.
I'm not building a mansion I don't need yard care, I don't need a maid or nanny, I don't need cement work done. I'm not a business looking for cheep labor, who care if America turns Spanish.
Anyway you cut it, they have fear of foreigners. It's some sort of irrational paranoia.
This article, like many others from our predominately open borders media, is somewhat biased.
Legal hispanic voters do support open borders more then other voters. They mainly do this for selfish reasons - they want more family, friends, etc to be able to come here. However there are still a large number of them who do not want any amnesty bill pushed forward. Those people are smart enough to understand that having tens of millions of instant citizens will not be good for the country in many ways.
People who are informed about this bill have the most disdain for it. I have spoken to many people about it and when they are told the facts about it they become livid! This is dems and repubs. The dems I know do not want the overpopulation, driving down wages to the working poor, pollution, crime, congestion, etc to increase and they are sensible enough to realize that adding that many people to welfare, housing, food stamps, WIC and other programs will mean drastic changes in our country - not for the better. The repubs I know don't want it because of many of the same reasons plus they dislike the reward to criminals of amnesty.
The only people I know who feel this is a good bill all have a personal agenda that they can gain in some way (they want lower wages or family to come) or they are misguided into thinking this is a humanitarian issue.
Most of the current crop of illegal aliens are not nearly as bad off as about 2 billion other people in this world so shouldn't we let "those 2 billion" in first if we are truly humanitarian?
Sorry, won't support the bill, don't enjoy living in a cesspool
As time goes on, Latinos, will have more and more voting power. The real question will be whether the elites in Mexico will be able to exercise their power over both counties. Being that Mexico has over 50 Mexican Consulars in the USA and ten in both Californian and Texas, I say the process of extending their reach has already began. I see a civil war over this issue in about 50 years or so. The other question is how much poverty can the USA support before it becomes more and more like Mexico. When the baby boomers die off we will become a country of rich and poor just like Mexico ?. I will not be alive when this takes place, but I bet Mexico will not allow amnesty for anyone else than Mexicans
14.8% of the population is not going to make a dramatic impact. Sorry, I could never support a bill that doesn't benefit the Americans who have been here legally from birth, or have came here the correct way.
I wont be supporting the bill now or ever, doesn't matter who comes into office. Politicians can be replaced.
Besides that,if we(antis) have no influence and our numbers are so insignificant, why is the mainstream trying to silence us?
You don't have to be racist to oppose this bill. It is a rotten bill for the country and I'm not even talking about the legalization (although I think felons and gang members should NOT be eligible.)
But then, I've read it.
Have you?
TRUE. And I will be one of those Hispanic American voters.
Immigrants will never have more influence than the majority of Americans.
The Socialists will fail as always.
Sir,
It is my belief that any Senator that votes for this flawed bill is serving their last term in the Senate. The citizens of the U.S.A
will vote them out.
The House will not approve this bill. They all face re-election next year.
As for your not caring, sir, you will when SS and Medicare no longer exist due to depletion of funds.
If you don't care as you suggest, why does it bother you that we oppose this measure?
