If you have the points for Canadian residence would you get it for sure?
Will I get my permanent residence providing that I meet the points? I'm afraid of not getting it!
I wish I could tell the government, hey there are a lot of immigrants who don't have a job and are struggling, I have everything but need the little paper, what are you waiting for?!??!?!
Answer:
Securing the required points is a good indicator of your admissability into Canada. It is however subject to some provisos including :
- Successful criminal and background checks.
- The imigration authorities ( Citizenship and immigraton Canada ) have to concurr with the points you have awarded yourself. Some things such as age, demographic levels and level of education are obvious, however the occupational category that you have chosen has to be consistent with their definition of that category. So there is room for ambiguity here and as this category is vital to your overall point total, it can make the difference between a succesful and an unsuccessful application.
- You also have to pass the medical at the end of your application.
- The CIC also have to ensure that there is no other suitably qualified candidate ( Canadian citizen or permanent resident) that can fill your job, rather your prospective employer may have to satisfy the CIC to that end. So the delay may not be at the CIC end.

Maybe there are other factors you don't know. Australia has need of certain trades and lets people with those trades enter if they have a Sponcer.
