Will amnesty really work? Think about it?

It didn't appear to work the last time that they did it.
One of the reasons given for the need to have an amnesty is that there are too many undocumented workers who have been living here for too long to even attempt to deport them.
Unless an amnesty is also combined with a serious and visual enforcement of the laws against hiring undocumented workers, I think that all it will do is attract another generation of undocumented foreigners who will just wait for the next amnesty to come alone when the same situation rolls around again.
Is it just me, or is this very myopic? Who cares if they immigrate? If they are legal and on the tax books, what harm can it do? Make us more productive?
If you are afraid they will take your job, you should work harder.
Everyone here is an immigrant from somewhere, even Native Americans.
I think this has much more to do with racism than anything else. I'm sure if it was thousands of illegal Scottish or Australian folks who wanted to stay, there would be far less opposition.
Thats where, SECURE the borders comes in! If we had done this in the beginning, we wouldn't have some many people here.What do you propose doing with all these people who have overstayed there visas from countries which are overseas? Whats to stop them?
No it wont work there will be more invasions from every third world country there is. Law enforcement is the only solution!
same thing happened in th 80s..look how that turned out.but our goverment is run by a bunch of morons who are worried about the 14 percent latino vote.and the american citzens who are the majority will have to suffer again.oh lets not forget when they get to become legal they will demand higher pay and better jobs.
It's not a possibility that illegals will flood over the border it's a fact. We need to learn from our past mistakes with amnesty we always offer it first then work on the border problem later, unfortunately later never comes so once again we are faced with the same problem. We need to secure our border first before we even think about amnesty and the ones who have been waiting in line to get here get taken care of first.

Amnesty will not work, it will never work, we need to secure out borders NOW and start deporting illegals.
That's a valid point; however, the Amnesty Bill also calls for more border security enforcement. This will stop more illegals from coming here (in theory, anyway). The reason why I'm for amnesty is because the alternative is to let the 12 million people already here continue to do whatever it takes to work. This includes stealing social security numbers, driving without insurance or registration, and not paying taxes or SS. Not to mention all the gangs that are created because of the ghettos they have to live in. It's not like these 12 million illegal immigrants are just going to disappear if the amnesty bill doesn't pass..think about it.
Just for Mexicans will be fine.
yeah... while we're at it, why not build the world's second longest and largest concrete wall, mixed with steel. Call it THE WALL OF AMERICA.

All those undocumented Immigrants are here! Just bring them dignity and civil rights!
