Yes, just because Mexico is a poor and corrupt country. (And I'm using Mexico as an example because most of the illegal immigrants here are Mexican. That's not racist, it's just a fact). Until Mexico improves it's own economy (and it's got absolutely no reason to) it will always be dumping it's poorest on us. Even without the freebies that illegals get here they still have a better life than in Mexico.
Now to all you people who say you can't get welfare, food stamps or medicaid/health care being illegal - what a bunch of crap! I've yet to hear someone explain to me how an illegal immigrant that's willing to work those "low paying jobs Americans won't do" can still manage to shelter, clothe, feed themselves, pay taxes (as some claim they do) and still have money to send home to Mexico? They can't!!! They know how to work the system and the Mexican government is complicit. CNN had a show not long ago that featured a family here illegally, the son, in addition to the free high school education he got, also got a scholarship to a US college. The wife had cancer and guess what, Medicaid was footing the bill to the tune of $80,000 so far. What Medicaid didn't pay, the doctors and hospital were eating. Or at least that's what they'd like us to think because that cost is getting passed on the the rest of us one way or another.
Some would, but if we threw in some punishments for people who employ them than that would rap up at least 90% of the problem.
If your talking about the illegals, than yes they probley will not enjoy it here as much.

That's a great idea. We should stop all welfare. Welfare makes fr very lazy people. Granted there are a few that actually need it due to physical problems but as a whole they need to stop it.
i mentioned this before, all of you think that it is the illegals who are a burden on our social systems (food stamps,medical care etc.) but you are wrong. most of them are very scared to even go to a hospital because they are illegal, most of them do not receive food stamps because they are illegal. but when you go to the store and grab a head of lettuce or a tomato or an orange you do not give it any thought that if it was'nt for an illegal it would cost you an arm and a leg to eat any of those items.
Well, given that illegal immigrants don't get welfare, food stamps, or medicare, since you have to have a social security number to get it, and by definition, an illegal immigrant wouldn't qualify, no, it won't make any difference.
Otherwise, it is a society's job to take care of the less fortunate. A society is measured by how it treats its elderly and its children. So sure, we can stop providing the piddly assistance that we do...but then what will we be?
Before we close our borders to keep ourselves "pure" we may want to look back on what some of the immigrants who have come to America have done for us and the world. Einstein was an immigrant, as are many of our doctors. Maybe they can't take care of themselves the minute they come to America, but they are coming so that they can take care of themselves. Maybe the kid that made your shoes could be the next Marie Curie, and if only she could make it to America, she'd be able to change the world. You never know when the cashier at the grocery store may be the person who cures cancer or AIDs, and is able to do so because of the support of those programs you want cut.

Hate to break it to everyone here, but some "illegals" (I assume that's what you meant by "they") come to work hard, assimilate, learn english, and escape a worse situation where they were.
Only if we stop handing out free education for their children. They don't have universal, funded education for the poor in Mexico. It is a huge draw.
Mind you, it ruins our schools for our own children as all available funds are diverted to the problematic ESL demographic.

It doesn't make it any LESS illegal if someone breaks the law to get a job, although most illegal aliens continue to break laws after they arrive. Working under the table, stealing IDs, fake IDs, etc..
Since you like "analogies" as you used with your Nazi comparison in another post-if someone steals a car, robs a bank, etc. to sell to make money to "feed their poor destitute family, do you think it somehow makes it less illegal?
A law is a law. You can't choose which ones to break or which ones you agree with or don't agree with.
P.S. Most Americans don't care if illegal aliens "assimilate" or learn English, they shouldn't be here in the first place.
