Can a person be deported from california for a felony conviction even when they possess a green card?

The felony conviction was for Domestic Violence.

Answer:
Depending on the nature of the crime.yes they can.go to www.uscis.gov for more info
I hope so. It would be a helluva lot cheaper than keeping him in jail here.
The card can be revoked, but I doubt it will.
Yes.
Yes this person can, if this person cannot abide by the law they can and should be deported.
They should be deported and made to serve time in their own country, but I bet it will never happen .
I think they do not kick you out they just do not renew your card. Also, you can never become a citizen.
I would sure hope so.
yes, see a lawyer to find out for sure
Yes, yes, yes. I know a guy who got deported to Chile. The guy had been in this country since he was 3mths old, but only had a greencard. e got deported b/c they realized he had a felony 10yrs ago (small felony fo which he never even had to serve time). Althgh the felony was in Fl, he got sent to Texas to then be deported back to Chile where he knows noone. Very sad situation...
Yes, they can be deported. Do you think a green card allows them to break other laws within their jurisdiction, and continue to stay? No!! The green card only assures them of being in the country legally. Not that they can commit acts of violence or other crime. Get a clue!!

In fact have them save the U.S. the trouble, and advise them to leave on their own.
BINGO! Domestic Violence is one of the specific crimes in the legislation covering the loss of a Green Card. A conviction can get the person deported and the Green Card voided.
Yes. One doesn't get deported from a state, one gets deported from the united states and any felony makes you excludable. Any person who is not a citizen can be deported.
Yes a felony conviction can result in the revocation of a green card especially if it was a drug charge.
Im hoping yes. We dont need anymore violent people here. They said we already have 12 million?
If it's a felony conviction, more likely yes, you can get deported right away as others said after serving time if both countries have a treaty with each other and have diplomatic relations. I personally don't know anybody who got deported but I read about Cambodian "chiggaz" gangbangers from California getting deported after serving time for convictions. One Khmer construction worker I read about got deported for public urination.
